Let's see your MK12s

This is all Diemaco except the barrel of course. Even has the super rare Eagle Mk12 issued sling. I don't know why there is such a colour variation between the anodizing on US made Colt/Diemaco M4 upper and the Canadian made lower. If the Diemaco DMR comes out I'm going to sell this one. Or maybe they will just release the DMR uppers. I just want the barrel... Hopefully Matt is listening. Hint hint. Need a barrel Matt.

Oh I totally forgot got about that Diemaco DMR! It may be worth the wait

Ok don't roast me to hard guys this will be my first build. My son wants a sniper rifle lol a MK12 is the compromise. I think I want to go with the wilson combat 556 spr barrel from Brownells but the KAC RAS MK12 Mod1 that we want requires a mid length or carbine length system. Are there any work arounds or other available RAS setups that I'm missing? Thanks gents

I believe the MK12 Mod 1 rail can be set up with a rifle length gas system. That is what the MK12 douglas stainless barrels are, and what that Wilson Combat barrel has. I don't have one in my hands yet but if the gas block is under the rail you just have to make sure it is small enough to fit under. I hope I understood your question correctly.

Yup you got it! The barrel is set up for rifle length, the KAC RAS MK12 mod 1 requires mid or carbine length so I just want to make sure that these items will be compatible. Again I could be right outta it! as I have never built a rifle before. Thanks

The Noveske SPR barrel is the most convenient and easiest to do. I was going to do the Douglas barrel to make it a true Mk12, but it was pretty hard to find all the parts. The Noveske SPR barrel came with the low profile gas block and a mid length gas tube. Rainier Arms has them in stock and can export it for you. There used to be a Canadian agent for Rainier, but I don't know if they still do.

I'll definitely look into that. Thanks for the lead! I found bravo company usa has a variety of MK12 uppers that are ready to go and customizable. Im going to compare the price of a build to the price of a pre-built imported via IRG or similar. At this point I'm leaning towards a build

CTC Supplies has some in stock.

That Noveske is tempting. Mike is running one of these and mentioned it shoots well.

You are going by Brownells description which is misleading . This the KAC RAS FF "long" part # 21318 is rifle lengh , therefore if you decide to use it with Carbine or Mid length , then you need low profile gas block . Most likely your barrel will be rifle length anyways so its a moot point . See below for pic or rifle gas block with this forend

This is my close to MK12 Mod 0

The hardest part to find is the original ARMS 38 spr-peq-2-3 swan sleeve since its discontinued . PRI starting to make their version, which is very close

I ended up using Badger rings instead of the ARMS #22M

The Mod 1 project went sideways when I had a Satern ( cut rifle ) 6.5 Grendel barrel . Now its pretty far away from a Mod 1 build

At that point, I ended using scope / mount I had

I spoke the the shop that actually makes the Ops Inc brakes for them and he could not make me the Model 12 brake and sleeve for the goofy barrel thread and diameter . He did make the Ops inc "Brownells" style brake for the goofy thread for me though

I have another SPR barrel for this Mod 1 but haven't bothered to swap the barrel and other parts over

The KAC started to make the FF rifle length again , so its easy to get for now . All the rest of the parts are relatively easy compared to the parts for Mod 0 build

IMO , the Mod 0 build will cost more money and uses a dated forend . There are lots of much better FF forends out there if you want to build a SPR "type" rifle. Even the KAC FF is dated...I much prefer the URX II

Nice thing about the Noveske is even though it's more expensive it does come with the pinned gas block and gas tube. Mine has been impressive, although I haven't been able to take it past 200m.

My Rainier Arm Ultra Match with a gas block, gas tube and the BCM mini comp was just $10 short of the Noveske barrel price, so the cost was pretty close, the decision to go the Ultra Match barrel came down to rifle length gas tube vs the intermediate length tube, 233 wylde chambering and it is essentially a Shilen match grade barrel!

Really awesome rifles guys.

Who makes the top rail that extens from the circular hangaurd down to the end of the top reciever?

Where in Canada can you get one?

Im considering doing a Mk12 mod 0 build on a ATRS Modern Varminator.
