Lets see your savage !

Why the hell do you load 5 rounds? I load 3. Only ever used all three once in 40 years.

why wouldn't he/anybody load a rifle to maximum capacity? doesn't hurt to be prepared....only ever used 2 shots on big game myself and mostly just 1 shot, but I've emptied my rifle and pockets when I come across coyotes or wolves throughout the day, it's a long walk back to the truck for more ammo

I've had a pack of 16 wolves cut thru right around me. Only having 3 slugs in the gun I felt under gunned. I had several in between my fingers just in case. On a few occasions I've had 3-5 wolves come in together. Having 5 in the gun is a plus if the second one isn't hit just right

Here is my um..er.. sons Savage Rascal.

Hes only 2 so i have some time to break it in.
I plan to return it to irons when he's old enough.

CanadianKeeper....When a deal presents itself you got to take advantage of it right?

I just bought one on boxing day from WSS in 22-250 and topped it with a Vortex Viper 6-24x50 scope. Wicked combo

Im going to give the weaver 3x9 a shot.. has drop indicators in the optic so. Should be fine for 300 and under Ontario shots.

Those wood stocks are making me want to get one.

Just bought this beauty a couple weeks ago brand new at Ukranian Tire. Mounted an older Bausch and Lomb 5-15x50 and a Caldwell bipod. Sad thing is I still haven't shot it...

Did you get that off John on the west side? I had him bring one in for me last year. I showed him pictures of a few groups I shot and he brought in another because he was so impressed with the accuracy. I love mine. Enjoy it!

I did indeed! Glad to hear it shoots straight. I'm going out to the bush this weekend to sight in and all that fun stuff. I'll probably post a range report in the precision forum when I'm done.

You will love it... It stands one of the two rifles I wish I never sold. Was when I first started shooting, smashing collagen jugs at 800 easily as a new shooter... 10/10 would buy another and see it put to proper purpose at 1000 yard shots. (308 cal)

So far good impresseion everything is tight. Only complaint is the non-accustock... the normal synthetic is flimsy up front and leans a little to the right, noticeable gap difference... Barrel isn't being touched and still free floating but trips up my OCD lol...

very sharp looking rig there......their non accustock still shot good groups for me, but my OCD also couldn't handle it....I had the bright idea to buy an accustock and get it hydro dipped, and then savage told me they wanted 400 for the accustock, so that dream died
