peep sights for both

heavy cover here...both get the job done

Friend of ours brought a browning '81 blr takedown stainless in 300 win mag with a burris fastfire 3 mounted on a egw base to our gravel pit/shooting range this morning.
I was surprised how close together we could cluster them in there at 50 yds with this 1X, 1 MOA device.
The burris fastfire 3 is a mid priced laser sight and functioned remarkably well in the bright sunlight.
It handled the recoil with no problem.
I've seen them on handguns and ars but never a hunting rifle before.

I just picked up a 760. Carbine in 308. It's not to often you find a real nice shape 760 carbine in 308. Now to see if I like it or not

You're gonna like that rifle A LOT!

Here's mine. Note the small scope in low mounts. <hint>

Agreed... low scope is essential...

That way it doesn't get hung up in the brush when you are holding your rifle by the barrel and beating the deer to death with the butt end...

Mine is the same, it has a VX iii 1.5-5 on it. The 760 carbine in 308 seems to be rare as there are many carbines in 06 out there but the 308 seems far and few between

Man now I really can't wait to drop my ranch into a chassis. Can't really decide between waiting for the Magpul version or the ESS to come out, but for now I've settled on waiting. Could be a while for the ESS but I kinda want a longer handguard on it, for purely aesthetic reasons.

i don't like the magpul from the pics posted and the ess is considerably more heavy. I still wanted a somewhat light rifle and the little weight I added is canceled out by mitigating recoil because I removed the brake

It's a very sharp rifle, I almost pulled the trigger on an LSS, be great with the folding adaptor too.

What are the features in one of those stocks that would be advantageous in regular hunting situations over a conventional stock?

What is the total weight as pictured?

The advantage is ruger dropped the ball on their magazine design and capacity. If there was a kit that put the AICS magazine in the original stock that would be perfect, although then I would have left the brake on or filled the stock anyways to compensate for taking it off. The LSS adds roughly a pound
