The advantage is ruger dropped the ball on their magazine design and capacity. If there was a kit that put the AICS magazine in the original stock that would be perfect, although then I would have left the brake on or filled the stock anyways to compensate for taking it off. The LSS adds roughly a pound
Mine is the same, it has a VX iii 1.5-5 on it. The 760 carbine in 308 seems to be rare as there are many carbines in 06 out there but the 308 seems far and few between
It is more the function of the mag than capacity, if you see an American ranch in 450 have a look at it, see how it functions (more like how it doesn't)Not trying to flame here, but I don't see those big mags as an advantage. One does not need high capacity in a real world bush hunting situation. They are large and take away the "one handed carry" option that would be an important feature in a bush gun. In short, the whole set up looks to be quite uncomfortable to carry all day long, esp if walking was in the cards. I'm not a big lever gun guy, but one of the things that made a 94 so popular was that it was light, fast and easy to carry in one hand.
What does it weigh as pictured?

That's a nice big bush banging....... ummmm ........ nice 45/70
If you have ever hunted boar, the need for large capacity magazines in a real world hunting situation is very real
