lets see your thick bush guns!

Thanks guys. I would like to get a timberwolf and a 77/44 to complete my collection of pistol caliber carbines.

I've been having a bugger of a time trying to get the front sight on the handi low enough to shoot POA with the peep sight. It shot pretty well with the original irons; but they were plastic and I prefer a peep.

Had the front base replaced with a metal one but haven't had the time with work to get it out and shoot some groups. Good complaint to have.

Have some 500 grain, 400 grain and 350's loaded and waiting.

I managed to get out with the rossi and it not only shot to point of aim out of the box; it did quite well with 300 grain bullets and is a pleasure to shoot offhand. What more could you ask for?

The only thing I am missing cartridge wise in my M77 collection is a pistol cal one ..... I had similar bad experience with the .44 as I had with the .30-30 at hunt camp...... May have to pick one up eventually.....

The "bad experience" involved another Hunter using a Ruger semi in 44.....

That's ok Superbrad, to each their own.
Myself on the other hand have been known to sleep with a lever gun ( true ) !

Kevan that reminded me of the many times that I fell asleep in my chair in front of my fire on many of my remote wilderness solo prospecting trips had my 4.25" barreled Ruger SRH in 454 Casull on my hip loaded with 405gr WLNGC's @ 1330fps and my Marlin 1895GS in 45-70 loaded with 550gr WLNGC's @ 1550fps.

Oh yeah those where the days I really miss my ATC...

I have a 20" barreled LSI Puma M92 in 454 Casull I have no issues wih shooting anything from 45 Colt to the 405gr 454 loads in it.

Step her down to the 77/357.

I took 3 first time shooters out today and they were vaporizing full pop cans and apples at about 30yds with mine. 100 rounds and it only cost me about $40. Tons o' fun!

Jae-Bok Young used to make the 405's and ship them up here from the States but I think he is retired now.

Best overall everything 454 velocity/killing power were my 360gr WLNGC loads.

Deer & black bear hunting would be my 240gr XTP-Mag loads gave me 2" 3 shot 100 yard groups.

Load was 240gr XTP-Mag's/Rem 7.5 primers/30grs H110/lee Factory crimp die crimp/average velocity was 2350fps.

This was my SRH load so you can push it faster in a M92 if you like.

^ intending to use it for thick elk country hunting

It is quickly becoming my favourite; my .338 probably feels neglected.

I like your choice. Winchester model 71 standard grade in 348 WCF??

Yes sir! My Grandfather bought it new in '58 or '59. He ordered a deluxe model but since production had ended this was all the distributor had left in stock. He shot quite a number of moose with it, a few whitetails and a handful of Vancouver Island Blacktails with it. He gave it to me in 2002 when he decided he could no longer hunt the mountains any longer. I shot my first and only whitetail with it to date but have drawn 3 mulie tags for this season so hoping to draw blood with it once again!
