This is thee rifle that started thee Ruger No.1/3003 Brit craze, but yes it is in fact a no.3 not a no#1.
Leeper went all out for me when he built this rig, I told him II wanted it too be the last custom hunting rifle for me, and it is.
Accuracy is spectacular even with the express sights at 200 yards with four different bullet weights , no less!
Leeper did not install the Kipplinger trigger, it was already on it when I got the gun.
he did everything else but the checkering, which was done by Dennis Davidson.

Tried my Tikka Battue this year.....two deer down! One at 60m and one at 12m. She's a .308 with a Trijicon 1-4x Accupoint on a Masi QD mount.

Remington had the same idea decades ago with the M600 and later Model Seven. Good formula that still works today.

I got them in 7mm08 and 260Rem also.

Yes sir,.. another 2 uncommon chamberings, or atleast uncommon around these parts,.. most 7600s around here are either 308 or the grand old caliber 30 of 1906,..... a few years ago I sighted in a 7600 30-06 for my wifes uncle,.. that thing kicked like a mule with 180s,..I still have a the scar on the bridge of my nose where the scope took a few bites while sighting it in,..lol

I've owned four of those 7600s in 35Whelen and have never been scope bit once and that's mostly shooting Speer 250s. I'm thinkin' you scope was too far back.

...... That had to be a joke. Nonsense otherwise. :)

No he's serious, if your not taking a .375 or larger caliber with you in the bush it will be a one way trip, even smaller animals can smell fear and smaller cartridges, soon they will gang up and you'll be consumed by a wild pack of gophers or chickadee in one of the smaller thickets, one of the worst ways to go. Everybody knows that.

Yup you're right SuperCub, the scope/gun was not set up to fit me,.. wifes uncle is much smaller than I am, and laying over the rifle on a shooting bench makes it even worse..,.... her fathers rifle, a 99e in 308, is bad for me too,.. it has about 3/4" sawed off the stock with the scope set quite far back,.. I've been bit by that one a few times too..lol.

But I do have to say the 7600 did kick noticeably more than my A-Bolt and X-Bolt chambered in 30-06. I'm not a recoil sensitive guy, I couldn't care less how hard I get kicked, but it'll make your eyes water a little if you get hit hard enough in the nose by a scope,..lol.

Oh ya,.. something I forgot to mention is I have a big nose,..lol
