Let's see your tikka's

gave my old .308 a makeover and did some load development :d love this lil thing, was actually my first centerfire rifle i got for a christmas present when i was 11 or 12, just started playing with it again and I'm not sure why i let it sit so long

How much does the SL weigh in the Game Scout? Is it Edge fill?

ill weigh it this weekend once I'm home, it isn't edge fill, only reason i went with the superlite is because i got a smokin deal on it, gonna do a #3 benchmark 1:10 twist on it next spring, its gonna end up being not so superlite but should be a real good shooter, gonna swap out that big heavy bushnell set up on my .308 for a set of tallys and a 3-9 leupold, it'll be my real light weight rifle

here's an oldie but a goodie. good looking at least, its a Tikka M65 in .308 winchester. I have tried a few different loads but cant seem to get this thing dialed in any better than 1.2" @ 100 yards. if anyone has had success with .308 M65's and wants to share some load data i would be most appreciative. :)

You guys swapping stocks on your T3s are you bedding them?

Now I want to find a nice wood stock or a B&C for my T3 plastic stock...

Every so often you find a T3 wood stock on EE. Keep looking. I have one on my Battue, and love it.
I also just sourced a nice factory wood stock for my Howa 1500 so I can ditch the sticky/lint collector Hogue stock.

Some very nice Tikkas on this thread. I absolutely love the pre-T3 rifles.
If I saw a particularly appealing T3 in a chambering that I wanted badly,
and it had a wood stock, I would probably buy it.

However, my experience with two T3 rifles was less than stellar, and this
has left me just a bit shy.
But it appears the majority of T3 owners are
quite happy with their rifles, and that is a good thing. D.

What were the issues Dave?

I have one in 6 Dasher that I think you would enjoy.

You'll have to show me that Dasher sometime, Brad. :)
One was a T3 "hunter" in 338 Win Mag. I fought with this rifle for 7 months, trying to get it to perform.
There were, basically 2 issues. 1. It was not particularly accurate, IMHO, and was very fussy about what it was fed.
2. It was dismally slow across the graph. I had pressure signs well before acceptable velocities were reached.
The max I could drive a 210 Partition was just at 2800, a speed easily attained in most 300 Magnums with similar weight bullets.
This was evident with bullet weights from 185 grains right up to 250. [My present M700 will make 3000+ with the 210 P.]

The other was a Stainless synthetic in 270. Big problem was it also was a "slow" rifle. 130's at 2875 do not cut it for me in
a 24" barrelled 270. [My present Vanguard does 3180 with the 130 AB, and just over 3000 with the 140 AB]... More like it!!

I upgraded both of those T3 rifles with metal shrouds, and SS recoil lugs, just to be sure. That Hokey aluminum "floater" is
a bit of a shortcut, that I think could have been addressed a different way.
