LET'S SEE YOUR WINCHESTER MODEL 21's

There has been an M21 Trap on a Canadian retailers website for the last few months, I won't mention them by name since they aren't a site sponsor ( I don't think) but the gun looks to be in good condition and is listed at $6999, is that what it's really worth or is that wishful thinking? Like I said, it's been for sale for several months but that could be more due to the small market than being over priced.
it's worth it to the person that wants a model 21 if a person thinks the price is high then you don't want a model .21
i have owned 3 in my life time all 12 ga personally the 12 ga are over sized and cumbersome i have sold them all for that reason and shoot parker's
just saying each to his own

You should feel the weight, heft and diference in balance of the H Grade Lefever 12ga 30" F/M I recently purchased in comparison to my VH Parker. I thought the Parker was heavy? The Lefever though is one solid feeling built gun!

I still have my 1937 M21, 12 ga, but sold my Parker, 12 ga. The Parker did not handle as well as the M21 and, if memory is correct, seemed heavier than the M21. The M21, with factory buttplate over factory LOP comes up easy and on target right off. I've owned quite a few doubles, including an L.C. Smith F/W and sold them all except for the M21 and a sxs Raick Freses cape gun two barrel set; 8x57 JRS and 20 ga. And an old BP wall hanger.

Fair enough Struff55 but this post you quote is over 3 years old... but I get it, it's worth to you what it's worth to you.

This is Roy Rodgers' 12 Ga Grand American M21 that sold at a US auction house in 2018. Its a cased two barrel set in new condition that fetched $51,000 USD.
Grand America M21's are Winchester's finest and command significant sums and even more so for when made for celebrities like Roy Rodgers. Besides being a famous cowboy actor, Roy was a dedicated and accomplished trap shooter.

Roy Rogers also owned Clarke Gable's engraved pigeon grade Model 12 Trap Gun. Roy and Clarke were shooting trap together, one day, and Roy being an expert trap shooter was hitting everyone where Clarke was not doing so well and blamed the Model 12 saying he'd gladly sell to Roy for 10 cents. Roy of course shot 25 straight with the Model 12 and became one of his favorites.

Thanks, Rod, for telling us about Roy and Clark Gable and the famous M12.
I managed to misspell Roy's surname. Bad on me.
I'll do a Google search and see if I can find pics of this M12 or possibly other of Roy's Winchesters.

I found that Roy's famous M12 that he got from Clark Gable sold in 2010 for $62,000 USD. It was an engraved pigeon grade that saw a lot of use on the trap fields. It could well be the most famous and most expensive M12.

There is an upcoming US auction that has 15 Win M21's. This one caught my eye as it a custom (after market craftsmen are not noted) 20 gauge,28" barrels with 3" chambers, built in 1954, has gold inlays and type B stock carving, with an estimate of $8.5k-$13.5k US which is somewhat less than a factory original Grand America.
Enjoy!
