Lets Talk About The 22LR Situation....again :)

For those that live in the GTA: Where are you guys getting your 22lr ammunition?

You're not going to find much IN the GTA unfortunately aside from Al Flahertys and Le baron if and when they have in stock. You can try bass pro up in Vaughn but they have limits so if you don't live close it may not be worth the trip. There's gagnons out in the east end but personally I find their prices a tad high. Your best bet is to try stores outside the GTA or online. Good luck!

Well it is in the GTA I guess so that's makes all the difference
Yet the very next ad is Fed 525 packs for $50 LOL!

I saw that too....

Edit: For those of you that live in the GTA, where do you get your ammo online? I've been looking around multiple retailers for no luck, that is considering I dont want to pay over $40 for a brick. Anyone know of any retailers that has stock? that ships to GTA within a reasonable price range?

LeBaron Markham has Winchester 222 round ($14+) and Super X 100 round ($11+) when I was there monday.

Best to call Bass Pro ahead of time if you're making the trip just for .22lr. They're hit and miss. And yeah the limit (4x50, 2x100, or 1 x Bulk Pack) are still in effect.

I have been actively calling them, Good thing I live about 10min away from Vmills so the drive is def worth it for me.

The limit, is that per customer per day?

Just saw listed in the EE ..... 1 brick of 500 rounds CCI stingers ....... wait for it ........ $125 & no shipping ........ WTF???

These used to be $9 per 50 at the local SAIL store.
$90 per brick plus tax brought it to just over $100 per brick.

That was 2 years ago, I figured with all the increases $125 was in line.

What's the going rate for these ? I'll edit my add if the price is out to lunch.

I have a great trader rating, I'm not out to rip off anyone.

It is.

HOWEVER, one of the guys that gets the ammo for the customers tries to help out so you can get more.

I picked up a Federal Automatch 325 round bulk pack. We struck up a conversation and he asked where I came in from. I told him its an 80km round trip. He looked at the log book and asks if I have 20 - 30 minutes to spare because by then he should be 3 or 4 pages deeper into the log book and he'll let me grab another 325 round pack.

There was a group of three friends behind mebuying Ammo, only one bought the 325 round pack. Same guy that helped me say to him since your friends aren't buying any .22lr, why don't his buddies put a 325 round pack on their PAL's, he pay for it so he could walk out with 975 rounds.

LeBaron has them listed in their online catalogue for around $7.00/50 give or take a couple dimes.

But, they're rarely in stock. Haven't seen any CCI there for a year plus.

Wow that was very nice of them to do, hopefully they will let me do the same if another customer doesn't want to buy any 22lr even though I live 10 min away :)

See my earlier post. Gagnons in Oshawa, and if you want to go for a bit of a drive, Williams in Port Perry and Canadian Tire in Port Perry. I checked out all three last Saturday. Bricks available at all three locations.

I dont disagree with your price, Not for stingers, Last time I seen them was 2 years ago at 8$ for 50, come forward 2 years they are the most non existent 22 round out there. not to far off by my math

I already mentioned gagnons in my post and Peterborough isn't exactly GTA. I'd barely consider Oshawa as part of the GTA which is where they were asking about..

Sorry bud..... no offense intended. Your feedback score speaks for itself. I was just caught flat footed & a little stunned. I'm just too used to paying $25, $35 even $40 a brick for 22LR (not necessarily stingers LOL) but $50 has been a major hurdle for me. Last time I bought stingers, which is admittedly some time ago, they were nowhere near that price which explains why I haven't bought them recently (never mind finding them). I grew up thinking 5 cents a shot was outrageous and still have a tough time paying over 10 cents a shot for 22 LR. Personally I just can't rationalize 25 cents a piece but that's just me....... at 25 cents a shot I'd be shooting center fire. Hey ... if the market will pay it, more power to you. Cheers.

Added: BTW........ Just for the record I never said anyone was trying to rip anyone off. All I said was WTF? If you advertise a product accurately with a clear price & conditions and someone is willing to pay it then it's clearly s.o.p.
Again didn't mean to offend!:cheers::cheers:

Thanks for mentioning Gagnon, I def don't mind going out for a drive since I frequent the Pickering area anyways. They have an annual yard sale and I saw a few good deals on their website, hopefully I will be able to pick up some that are still in stock tomorrow.

Williams is only 20 minutes north of Gagnons, and a nice little gun shop too. Its in port perry, not Peterborough as the other guy said. If you're in Oshawa, you might as well spend another hour and go for a further drive.

Port Perry C.tire had a decent selection of guns and ammo as well.

Ya, I was planning to do that actually, might as well :)

Personally, I've blocked some of the ass hats on the EE who are gouging with their 22lr pricing....makes me sick. Even @ gun shows, I'll walk right up to a table and tell the guy he's being a ####...and say it loud enough that he turns red with embarrassment. Yeah you guys can call it capitalism....back we're I come from, its being a ####
