Same here as well as adding all the post whores.
 
For anyone around the GTA, as mentioned before, try Gagnon sports in Oshawa and Canadian tire in Port Perry, I picked up a few bricks this past weekend. also P&D has them for cheap but shipping is a pain from alberta.

Shot well out of my Magnum Research 10/22, closing in on a 1" group for 10 rounds at 50m, better than CCI Minimag 36gr HP's or 40 gr RN's, hope I can find some more
 
Just got an email from a US citizen from Alaska who claims he has an import permit who is looking for almost 50,000 rounds of various .22 LR...and will pay up front. Also claims he has a PAL. Phil.
 
I guess things are bad if they want to import ammo that was made in the US and previously exported because they can't find any domestically.
If they're after non-US brands, this doesn't apply, but I have a feeling the list doesn't include much European ammo.
 
Are there European Sources for .22LR? If so, what kind of costs are involved?

As prices for North American made .22LR Climb at some point it maybe feasible to look for other sources, assuming there is another place to look.
 
In another thread a fellow CGN pointed out that those Troy Landry CCI Minimag 36gr. HP are in stock online for $27.99/300. I'm super tempted.....but I have enough ammo for the next few months right now. (It's just missing some CCI.....oh well)

Oh, and there is no limit on those!

Various Canadian retailers sell European 22lr ammo. RWS (Germany), Eley (UK), Lapua (Finland), SK (Germany), S&B (Czech), Norma (Sweden), and others. They make more premium type ammo, not much of the cheap bulk stuff that the US makes, so expect to pay premium prices upwards of $60-100 per 500rnds. High end match ammo can go for up to $250 per 500rnds. Since a lot of it is meant for match shooting most of it will be "standard velocity" which is subsonic; around 1050-1100fps.
Hirsch Precision imports and sells SK and Lapua ammo. Various stores that specialize in match or biathlon shooting will carry various European brands.

Most European countries have export restrictions somewhat like the ITAR restrictions out of the US so you can't order directly without permits.

Funny. My local CT is selling S&B .22LR now. Standard Velocity. I haven't tried it, as I don't shoot .22LR and the kids are still working away at the 3000 or so rounds of it that I have on hand.

Bass Pro gets Eley from time to time.

IIRC it was around $14 for 50.

I picked up some.. It works good.. They will only sell you one 300 brick per day per person according to the store in Vaughn.
 
This has been going on for a few years now and doesnt seem to be ending soon.Im amazed that the Chinese or Russian ammo manufacturers havent jumped into this market with cheap 22 ammo.Surely Norinco makes 22 rimfire?
