Lever .22's?

For short throw, fast acting, I liked my friend's 9422. We both grew up wandering around packing guns for fun. The Marlin 39 that I had was longer, heavier, and we both shot more accurately with it, partly due to the Williams receiver peep, partly because of the huge long sight radius, and partly because of the extra weight. It had the older style (Ballard?) rifling, not the microgroove).

The one that works for you is best, though. I can't get worked up about a shiny taco shell wrapped around pot metal for any price, but if it works... I'd just never be happy with it. Does Henry sell spare covers for days when "all dressy" doesn't seem right? :D :nest:

In an earlier post I told of testing three different kinds of 22 ammo with my Henry, with a 4x Bushnell 22 scope on it.
I said I had some five shot groups under an inch at 50 yards and I didn't think any five shot group was as large as 1½ inches.
Here is two five shot groups, one on top of the other, at 50 yards. Center to center of the two flyers is about exactly 1½'.
This was with CCI Blazer ammo. The other kinds tested were Winchester Wild Cat and CIL, Dominion brand, Super Clean.
The bottom line was I couldn't see any real difference between any of the three brands.
