I had a talk with a co-worker wich is also heavily into guns, and one comment sparked my interest...he stated, about 20-30 years ago, Winchester or Rossi did make a Lever in .45ACP. Is that B/S, or did such thing exist...and if yes. where to find one?

I worked in a gun store 20 years ago and never saw anything like that. Can't imagine it would have been worth a #### though or else it would still be around. Rimless case that short would be a nightmare to get to feed properly.

much in the same way everyone refers to rounds as "shells" instead of shells or cartridges- the one I love is "shell casing" when they mean brass- properly, a shell casing would contain the brass, primer , and bullet or projectile- like those things the arty rounds come in to keep the weather and debris out

I own both... rossi in 45 colt, some Rugers and a s*ytload 1911s, so be assured I know the difference...now to the question why one would want one? For me that would be the novelty rare thing and probably a fun plinker...image the capacity of a full lenght tube underneath a 20" barrel.

Id buy a 9mm lever, you'd probably get 20 rds in the tube and it would cheap to shoot. It would make a nice porcupine gun

Some would like to have one to accompany them when out shooting/hunting with their 1911(in none-oppressed countries). Only need one ammo.
Hunt what, you say? Well, if so many find the .223 adequate for deer, why not the 45ACP with the right loads?

Yup, my Norinco/Armco 45-08 BD comes to mind.

It's a U.S company but look up ranger point precision... They do a marlin 1894 conversion in 9mm,45acp,10mm and a couple others I believe

Thx. They state 1200 USD for the conversion, plus the rifle... So with import and x change rate that would be roughly a 2500 dollar option. Rather expensive, but i'll look into that if they even send to Canada.

If I remember correctly, there were Spanish or Latin American M1892 type carbines made in .45ACP. "El Tigre?"

Some made it into the US; don't know about here. I think some Central and South American police forces used them. Mexico? Argentina?
