Leverevolution powder-Beyond the 30-30!

I dug up results from when I used Leverevolution & CFE223 in the same rifle/bullet

6.5 Grendel
100gr Nosler HPBT
LVR - 30.6grs 2571 fps
CFE223 - 30.6grs 2525 fps
So in my lot #'s, it appears CFE223 is slightly slower burning than LVR

Tod how was the accuracy of these 2 loads ? also were they accuracy comparable of each other ? From your Howa Mini ? RJ

And I am sure you have all the equipment to pressure test your loads..and that you know better than experienced balistician and chemists with years of lab experience.....looking forward to see you in the futur kaboom tread..or on fail army tv program ! lol

Always amazed at the ‘know better’ than the pros..and complete disregard for basic safety for oneself in behaving that way.

The pros didnt test every bullet/powder/case combination that would be crazy. But if a powder works in one case and bullet combo there isnt much reason it wouldnt work in another case similar shape and capacity.
Also if you have ever shot cast bullets in a rifle you would get use to using powders that dont have loads listed by the manufacture.

Just because the powder maker didnt test it doesnt mean someone else didnt or its not safe

Hodgdon says titegroup works in a 308 case. But no data for the 303. They are the same capacity as each other and same weigh bullet. Guess what, works fine in the 303

Also if you look at different data you will see someones min load is sometimes more then another max load for the same case/bullet/powder. There is more to it then copying the books numbers

I did check this 303 before firing it.
Buba, [who owned it before me, drilled a hole thru the backsight, right thru the barrel. I test fired the rifle with a lead sled and a pull rope.
The first shot was ok, the second shot i held the gun up to my shoulder, and when i fired it the screw blew out of the backsite, the backsight lifted about 1/4" and i got a faceful of powder and pressure in my face.
Sorry no more 303's for me.
Thank god for shooting glasses
take care old timer 74
[I DID NOT KNOW THE THERE WAS A HOLE UNDER THE BACK SIGHT]
