Liberal Handgun Ban?

1x away from dictatorship Canada; no vote for PM, for Premiers, no elected Senate, no provincial Senates. No recall, balloting, or municipal home rule, 0 checks & balances. Imposition at every turn, a study in manufactured consent. Canadians have vision, stymied by the status quo

In 1982 the Charter of Rights is passed and NOWHERE does it protect our personal rights to property.
We simply elect our dictators, 4 years at a time.

One wonders why Scheer has been so silent on this topic?

Bernier leaving the CPC is not a good move for Canada as a whole - to spite supply chain/dairy cartel influence over the CPC.

Timing of his departure has (from what I can observe) fractured the "conservative" side of Canada as a whole, at a time when it needs to be unified in its fight against a violent and dangerous left.

The left continues to win - on a federal level, with total media backing - because conservatives are not taking the fight to them.

Save for Douggy winning Ontario, Faith Goldy doesn't even get mentioned in the media for the Toronto mayoral race, and Scheer isn't as tough as Bernier on policies that will keep Canada...Canada (as we all know and love).

We keep heading down a dark and dangerous path as conservative voices, opinions and logical debate fall into the vacuum of liberalism.

If Sheer don't want this to happen, he will have to steer right, his choice.

No compromise.

Be honest. Very few Bernier supporters will either agree Scheer came right enough, or even if he does, still vote for him. Its change for the sake of change in some minds. Which is great... except it will be at the expense of another Liberal government.

The most Canadian thing any conservative can do right now, is focus on removing Trudeau. Supporting Bernier will not achieve this. Get Scheer in power, then Conservatives can sit back and re-evaluate their party, and force changes where changes are needed.

A Trudeau victory in 2019 only solidifies in his mind that everything he has done was right, including on firearm policy.

Scheer is just 'Trudeau Lite'. If that's our best option then so be it. It doesn't (yet) look like Bernier is going to get the support he was hoping for but I still support his decision. We had to know if true Conservatives still had any real political muscle left and so far that doesn't appear to be the case.

If Bernier doesn't grow in popularity between now and the coming election then we'll know for sure the score. Canadians apparently have no desire to keep what's left of their culture or identity and gun owners aren't worried about losing their guns... :(

"Poll finds 17 per cent of Canadians are open to supporting Maxime Bernier-led party"

*Bernier has to give it a shot. Polls indicated that we were looking at another Liberal majority in 2019 anyway...

I already make my point, it's time we stop voting for who we don't want, but for who we want. If Sheer is the best the CPC has to offer, then Canada-as-we-knew-it probably deserve to burn and never to return.

No one is going to throw away their vote by voting Benier, not with Trudeau in "Power". Sure we would be open to it but we are not stupid. Sorry Bernier.
Now if we had proportional representation that would be a different story but, we don't so it is end of story for Bernier.

That's pretty much the way I'm seeing it too! Bernier did what he felt he had to do. We're now going to see if there are enough true Conservatives left to make a difference and we'll find out whether or not Canada can be saved. This will be our last 'kick at the can'. We'll know for certain soon enough...

Yes they are.. Just look in this thread.

I have absolutely zero issue in trying to seek change in the Conservative party, but not at the expense of 4 more years of Trudeau and the loss of my handguns.

Focus on change should wait until after Trudeau is gone, in my very honest opinion.

I agree. The focus should be on turfing the naked princeling first; and then and only then should differences be aired and any changes deemed necessary, dealt with.

OK, here is the issue. When Liberals came out the first time with the idea of handgun ban after the Toronto shooting, I was at the range in Mission, B.C. and asked the guys who were there if they knew about it. Out of 11 people, only 2 knew and that included myself. When C-71 was introduced, I asked one board member of the same club if they will issue any form of information notice to its members, he told me they have a guy that "could put something on facebook". The least each club can do, is send a bulletin out to all members and by doing so, they would reach huge number of people but no, not here in Canada. Not all but certainly a lot of our gun clubs are run by people who combine complacency, arrogance and stupidity into one package. I would highly doubt they realize there will hardly be gun clubs without guns.

Yeah, those of us passionate about these issues need to get involved in our gun clubs more and the "the guy who could put something on Facebook".

I am right now waiting to see whether my application to Tavistock Rod & Gun will be accepted. Part of the application process is they want to know what the new member is willing to do to help the club out. I put on my application that I'm a lawyer and I would be more than happy to give some presentations. I think if they accept me I'm also going to volunteer to be "the guy who can put something on Facebook" and I'll send emails to the membership and post to Facebook to keep people aware.

I wouldn't be too surprised if a lot of people at that club didn't hear about Bill Blaire's mandate letter.

First thing I would do, would be to never refer to them as stupid

Yet "stupid" is precisely what they are. The Liberals are highly adept at gaining political support and votes from profoundly and inordinately dim-witted people. That's their forte. There's no way to sugar-coat it. This is exactly what we're up against and we had better acknowledge it if there is ever to be any hope of fighting this gun ban...

"A full 67% of Canadians support or somewhat support a ban on handguns."

Been there, done that, resulted in nothing but alienating friends and family members (somehow, everybody sided with the crazy cousin infatuating with Hilary)... Last news on the block is that I'm a savage (literally) for having a rural lifestyle.

"Crazy" is an understatement.

I'm reminded of when Harper first mentioned consolidating the ATT with the RPAL. It was just a simple matter of combining two authorizations (with identical prerequisites) into one in an effort to streamline completely redundant paperwork. Turdeau (a degenerate imbecile himself) tried to panic the 'tards by making them think that it would lead to licensed gun owners running around shopping malls waving their pistols in the air.

It is beyond me how anyone could possibly believe such utter BS! But believe it they do. I sincerely don't even know how or where to begin to deal with people that incomprehensibly stupid. I just don't have any hope of ever turning such people around... :(

The polls have already told us that Turdeau will still win another majority government in 2019 and I believe it! Bernier wouldn't have bolted if Scheer had a decent chance. As a gun owner, I at least want a voice and Bernier is that man. Let's see what support he can raise between now and the election and we'll focus on 2023...

1. It's a year away and polls mean little right now.

2. The polls predicted a Hillary Clinton victory.

3. Many polls are owned by left leaning companies.

When I say I antagonized my whole family on the subject, this is *NOT* an understatement... and these people are highly educated 1%'er.

Agreed. Lefty propaganda machines are not to be trusted.

I think the polls in this case are correct. We're through the looking glass here. I still can't believe that someone as stupid and incompetent as Turdeau can even get a government job...
