Liberals plan to ''End Gun Violence''

With a cooler head I read the article

It does state he will leave the oic in effect but leaves the road open to cancelling it if his public un politized review recommends that

Ithis is actually pretty savvy

I was on the fence about whether to vote for the CPC or PPC but after reading this my mind has been made. Get fvcked O'Toole, you closeted liberal.

I implore you not to vote ppc!

He is doing this in a damn smart way IMO
An unpoltical review will suggest the overturning of the oic.

Thus he appeases both sides

Yeah honestly I might as well. He's taking liberal stances on basically everything else too. He's just like yesterday's liberals and that's the problem. He's not conservative and has no desire to move things to the right in this country.

Hard to move things to the right in the country that is 80% leftist.. there's absolutely no chance for a "purple wave" or any other kind of "right swing" in Canada at this time

I live in rural Ontario. Even here I can tell you a push the the right isn't going to happen. We are for better or worse going to sit in this little area of politics progressives on one side conservatives on the other, with the liberal/centrists caught in the middle. Politics change and at some point people will get sick of the newage progressiveness and move on to the new hip way of thinking. That's where we make gains when they eat themselves not now when they are in their prime.

I wish you were wrong but I can't disagree with any of that. We've seen lots of progress from right wing movements globally as of late but for whatever reason we've had none of it sadly.

Might as well retitle this “The Liberal AND Conservative plan to end Gun Violence”. Just let O’Toole know I can no longer vote for him (despite voting in the Leadership and being a lifelong Con voter). Well at least he made it easy to vote purple.

Thanks for splitting the conservative vote and losing me $1000's in property. The PPC will not and can not do a damn thing for us on any single issue they claim to support. While I may like what they have to say, I sure as hell am not stupid enough to vote for the party that will lead to a liberal minority or majority.

I would encourage you to hold your nose and vote Conservative anyways. If I have to choose between losing my BCL-102 and losing Mr. Trudeau the answer seems pretty simple.

Reading most of these comments makes me realize Starship Troopers unironically has a better system of govt than the largest group of the greediest people deciding everything lmao.

Vote for PPC, split the vote, Liberals get in, all firearms and a great deal of other freedoms are forever gone, that is what will happen.

Vote for CPC, CPC gets in, OIC gone in a few months after Firearms Act is reviewed, that is what will happen.

Its called playing politics, get used to it.

Politicians can't be simpletons stuck in one place. They need a little doublespeak.
Think about it, he's made all these promises to the firearms community, attended events with retailers etc. how would he explain himself to them if he was set on keeping things the same?

Sir you have nailed it. Anyone who does not vote Conservative is rolling the dice and must be willing to sacrifice additional rights, freedoms and usage/ownership of sporting and hunting firearms

The Liberals will have stated that they are after guns. Don't fool yourself, they want to take them all.
The PPC will not form a government so a vote this way is wasted.
The only chance, and it is just a chance, is voting CPC.

Exactly. His doublespeak is intended to increase votes from the average person who would otherwise vote liberal. Don't let his talk have the opposite effect on you!
