It’s over, IMO.
O’Toole is scared. He regrets those CCFR interviews. He regrets adding this issue to his platform. He wasn’t expecting the media to put this much pressure on him, but they did, and he wasn’t prepared for it.
Google “O’Toole” and you’ll see every single news outlet is talking about the gun ban. Go on Twitter and every single Liberal MP is talking about the OIC. Watch his press conferences and you’ll see reporters talk about the gun ban non-stop.
Now just imagine how much worse it would be if he actually won the election and went through with it. The Liberals and the media would never shut up about it. They would use this issue to put pressure on his back for his entire political career.
Even worse — imagine if he revoked the OIC and we get hit with another mass shooting, O’Toole’s political career would be OVER.
There’s nothing wrong with being hopeful, but those guns are not coming back.
