Is it possible to purchase a very accurate lighter weight rifle for leisure target/hunting/plinking? As earlier stated in other threads, I'm interested in a rifle that can be used for all of the above minus the heavy weight.
I've had good luck with regular wooden BDL's and Tikka T3 Lite SS in heavier calibres. Can I expect the same kind of accuacy from these rifles in 222 or 223. I don't need 0.25" groups, but it must shoot under an inch. Is this possible or do I have to consider a heavier barrelled rifle that's bedded, etc? Any opinions would be welcome.
My biggest concern is buying a new rifle for this purpose, then buying a scope and then when I do sit on my bench, I'm only getting 1.25 inch groups. Any opinions would be welcome. Oh by the way, it doesn't have to be a bolt. Heard about the inexpensive NEF's. Any good for accuracy, fit and finish??? If one of these are really accurate I could put the extra money towwards a better scope?
