Live Trapping Coyotes

Our second farm dog growing up was "Tucker", the friendly big Rottweiler mutt you could have related to, we never weighed him but he'd have to have been over 130lbs. He was one of the kindest dogs I've ever known but made pretty spooky messes of the few coyotes he managed to catch. Same deal as Dutchess he healed up easily each time and was very "Look brother!" about the ripped up pulp of coyote.

Brother has a Bovier (sp) Over 100 pounds , well over , maybe 130 or 140 and one of the nicest friendly dawgs you'll ever find , to people . He has killed 75 pound bear cubs and would shred a coyote in a heart beat if he ever caught one . In an evenly matched fight , pound for pound with a timber wolf i think i'd put my money on Rufus . He's a killer and has killed everything from groundhogs to bear cubs and likely a couple of deer . A sow with cubs and Rufus goes into attack mode . Brother has seen him attack but not kill a 250 pound sow but he broke off that fight to kill the cubs . He has never been trained to fight but takes it upon himself to patrol the farm . He doesn't stand off or bark , he goes straight in to fight . Although i say Rufus is extremely friendly to people , that's people he knows . I think it would be a bad plan for an undesirable to come sneaking across the fields at night when Rufus is out . Drive in with the car and Rufus will walk over and look straight in the side window . He doesn't have to look up because he's so big . I've heard that some armies in the old days had Boviers that they'd set on enemy soldiers at night to kill them and i believe it .
