Hey troops if the SCAR project dies, then a LMT 308 is on the table.
let me know your initial impressions etc. :)
Cheers

None have shipped yet in Canada afiak. Some pretty good US impressions over on AR15.com.

Our first batch of LMT 308's should go out late this week or early next week.

We received the new FRT # for them a couple days ago and did the registrations. I believe we allocated guns in the past couple of days and that transfers are now processing.

If you were one of the lucky ones to be near the top of the list then you should have received your notification of pending transfer :)

FYI if you can - I'd wait for the SS 5R barrel version.

I got a chance to see it perform, and if I did not have a SR-25 EMC ;), I would have been all over it.

Better than the ragged, one-hole groups the SR25 does?

Or does the same, only at a slightly lower price point? :p

And thanks for the info Kev. I'll pass it on to the guys that can hopefully do something with it, maybe they'll start looking harder before committing....

I only had a chance to see it with foreign ammo, that did not do as well with our M110 SASS as expected either, so I would not make any final jugements on accuracy comparision, but my guess would be similar.

However the EMC has a lot of features that the MWS does not, and I view the MWS more comprable with our older SR-25 Carbines.
Not a knock at the MWS, but we build our gun for a different customer.

The major advantage to the LMT gun, is it is marked .308 on the receiver, and will be much more palatable for DOS/DDTC to approve for sporting purposes than our 7.62mm marked receiver.

Here are a few of the targets from our recent side by side testing of the various .308's we've been offering for sale...

All of these targets were fired at 100 Yards... all are 5 shot groups

I suspect that all of these guns will outshoot the shooters... in most cases we felt that the "flyers" were us and not the guns. Later this summer we're planning to take them out and do some longer distance comparisons (600 to 800 yards)... but at 100 all of these guns shoot pretty darn good ;)

Hey Mark, why are POF and SR-25's no longer listed on your website?...

Both were taken "down" when US State Department started increasing restrictions on certain items again... the last export permit we got basically ruled out further export of Knight's due to them being 7.62NATO marked.

It also restricted export of folding and collapsible/telescopic stocks so that ruled out the SR-25 EM Carbine (double whammy). We are working to get that changed to at least allow us to export the new SR-25 EM Rifle which according to KevinB actually has a different chamber spec.

We were waiting to see what happened with that before putting them back on the website for custom order... All the ones we did have are sold... though there might be an SR-15 E3 IWS left in stock (I'm not 100% sure).

Having said that... we do have an unexpired permit that would allow us to export 2 more of the Knight's .308's so if you are looking for one email me and let me know what you want... it would have to be something that Knight's has in stock for quick shipment otherwise the permit will expire before the export can be made.

The POF's were taken down because we just couldn't get deliveries... we placed an order for POF's last fall (October/November 2009) and they had been promising us shipment since last January. We finally said the heck with it and refunded one gentleman his deposit and stopped taking new orders for them. Then about 4 weeks ago we got a partial shipment of our order delivered to us and we are expecting the balance of that old order to be shipped in the next few weeks. You should see some POF items start to appear on our website over the next few weeks... in fact the 12" POF that we test fired is available and should be on the website later today. We are hesitant to take custom orders for the POF stuff because of the VERY LONG delivery times and the uncertainty of whether we would be able to get new Export Permits for that product under the new US State Department restrictions. I have a feeling that these few items we have enroute may be the only ones that make it here... for a while anyway.

may i make a suggestion, could you shoot these rifles with m80 ball ammo for testing like the brits do, yes i know they use radway green ammo but this is a nato rnd and similiar to m80 147/150 gr round. it would tell us more info on quality and accuracy then using 168 GMM.
also could you tell me if you can or will bring in the MGSS DMR-10 in 260 Rem.

UK L129A1 Sharpshooter rifle

As to the guy who wants to shoot ball thru it, how do you think that will tell on accuracy?

Take 2MOA ammo, run it thru a sub-moa gun, and you get 2MOA groups...

being the guy who wants to shoot ball thru it, yes i would like to see the groups it would produce, seeing as you know the UK L129A1 shoots quite well with ball, less than 2MOA with radway ammo. that being said should i shoot only 45 dollars ammo thru a rifle? or should i be able to shoot whats available? wanting to know how a $4000 dollar rifle shoots with anything you would have on hand is this wrong. or should i only shoot when GMM ammo is available in my area?

it is easy enough to do in Photoshop, take the pictures Questar posted just move each hole approximately 1" away from each other, replace that loonie with Pringle can lid for comparison and pesto you have got yourself a pattern for ball ammo :p :D
