LMT Barrel Issue (continued)

What a mess!! To say the least.

Questar seems to have an interest in getting this resolved but is their motivation cause of this thread or their desire to provide customer service. I don't really see Questar to blame for the barrel being sent out... I see the blame laying at the employee's feet that took this barrel and found it acceptable to send out in its current condition. I hope that employee got a good ass chewing.

At that point Questar should have tripped over themselves to fix this problem. This is where Questar FAILED. Their empolyee screwed up BIG TIME and it's Questar responsiblity to rectify the problem.

Hope this works out for everyone and being new to this forum and the firearm community I likely will not do business with Questar.
 
Semi hijack here, but I think it will help make up anyone's mind to shop elsewhere (incase this barrel issue is not enough to deter you.)

A few weeks back I was shopping for some pmags, and a friend told me Questar usually has stock. So I'm at work (with no access to a computer) and I text my buddy if he has Questar's phone number on hand, he immediately text it back to me, so of course I called right away.

So someone picks up answering "Questar" or something along those lines. I was polite and chipper that day and said "Hey, how's it going today? I'm calling to see if you guys have any pmags in stock?". Then Numb-nuts responds (in a tone that would remind you of your teenage daughter that didn't get her way) "Check our website, if it says there is stock on there then we have stock, anything else?".

He caught me so off guard I didn't think to get his name or any particulars, I just hung up.

I hope everyone boycotts Questar based on blaxsun's latest purchase and my little phone call experience with their customer service, and I wish only the worst future for Questar financially until THE CUSTOMER, I repeat THE CUSTOMER is 110% satisfied.

Business's like this need to realize that they need us, the consumer. We do not need them.
 
Yeah, whatever made me think we need companies that import goods from the USA. I'll go back to looking at all the $650.00 lever guns and $350.00 SKS rifles I see at the gun shows.

If you let go of your ankles for a second you'd realize there are more than one company importing goods from the USA. Or maybe you just like getting FITA?
 
I think you missed the part where I said Questar is in the wrong on this issue, but whatever, let's just all panic and freak out over a barrel.

not freaking out... I agree Questar to be in the wrong too

But its not just about the barrel either. It's about this blaxsun's hard earned cash, it's about the false advertising of NIB (should be s**tInBox in this case), and my personal experience, it's about their CS.

Blaxsun: I feel your frustration, but please consider the following:
I will share with you my experience with Questar, I will show you another side of the coin. English is not my first language so I will try my best. I know my opinion isn't of any value on CGN, but still I will share it with you.

I own a LMT MWS .308 rifle that I bought from Questar. After a few rounds through the rifle, I noticed some kind of rust in my barrel extension. I sent Questar some HD pictures of the problem. Within 36 hours LMT saw the pictures and replied that it was looking like Magnaflux and it could be cleaned with acetone. It seemed to work. +1 for customer service and quickness of action.

A few weeks later, I start having some primers popping into my receiver. I started to inspect my empty cases and noticed some pressure signs. I emailed Questar about it with pictures of the brass, once again, within 36 hours LMT replied they would like to see my upper rifle assembly, and fix/replace it if needed. LMT also asked that I try to use 7,62x51 NATO ammunition instead of .308. I replied that I couldn't find ANY NATO ammunition in Canada right now, except for Norinco.

Do you know what Scott(Questar) answered to that??? He replied with a tracking number of a package, wich contained 60 rounds of 7,62x51 quality ammunition for me to try, at his own expense, both ammo and shipping. I was speechless! Isn't that going beyond customer service? All of this happened BEFORE blaxsun's QuestGate...

I am not trying to be a Questar fanboy here, I am wondering how can Questar give me such a stellar customer service, and give you hell?

I will probably not have my rifle for 6 to 12 weeks, like blaxsun is not going to have his barrel for about the same amount of time. The thruth is, LMT will fix any problem on a rifle or parts within 5 days of business. That is their claim. But you have to understand the 6-12 weeks waiting period is ALL import/export waiting time for your rifle/part to come back to canada. The product you bought (anything LMT) is a niche product (in Canada), and is long to import and requires a lot of paperwork/waiting time. I am REALLY pissed that I will not have my rifle for such a long period of time, but I understand that the waiting period is not Questar's fault. I also understand that I do not have a choice, because Questar is the ONLY ONE to bring us these niche products, special imports.


HOW can VANISLER be free to spread lies and damage questar's reputation? He openly said Questar were thieves, were not respecting the law, and they illegaly import merchandises from USA? This is serious accusations and it should be dealed with...:eek: Your witch hunt is pathetic.

Nice story bro. Fail to see how it relates to the matter at hand at all.

As for my accusation...Questar is getting away with importing stuff that ALL of the other firearms businesses in Canada cannot. I don't know why that is but I do know that if they are STEALING from customers AND if they are breaking US law they should fry, whether it helps us or not. They are STEALING as they are selling USED items, advertised as new; that is fraud. All I said was perhaps the US authorities might want to look into that. If they are legit they should have nothing to fear.

Your attempt at defending Questar was far worse than anything I have ever wrote. I have even less respect for them after your stupid non-relavent example. Get bent.

Questar has a business down south which helps greatly for exporting, good on them.

I find what Questar has done here is a bad decision. They could have easily dealt with this far easier than they did. I have purchased stuff from Questar in the past and never had any problems with them. Once when I inquired they were rude on the phone and there expertise were lacking and they were arrogant a few times. All businesses make mistakes at times and Questar has made a few errors in my judgement, and burned a few people I know before.

But really just send the barrel back and call your CC company and be done with it.
 
Well we've had three or four people state they have gotten attitude on the phone from Questar. I don't know about you guys but I don't give my hard earned money to people who don't appreciate the business.
