Location of 2010 IPSC Canada Nationals

Thompson Mountain BC (lower mainland/Pitt Meadows.) Clint M (bambam) is MD. dates are tentatively July 28 -31. no website up and no further information available at this time that i am aware of.

#### I'm going to be pissed if I can't make it. I'm scheduled to get off the morning of the 31st. Working the previous week straight through.

I'm 4th on the list to pick holidays on my crew. With wanting 2 sets (20 days) in may/june getting the end of july is going to be a hard sell. Why are we not shooting on the sunday?

Now that I am one of the "older guys" at work, I get to chose when I want to take summer holidays. Guess which week I will be off, hehe. Gawd, please don't let it rain.

Oh, about the dates. The IPSC-BC website has July 29-Aug 01 for the match.

Ok... Not wanting to rain on anyone's parade but...

As one of the Match Directors for the 2010 Nationals I can tell you all this...

Nothing is set in stone other than the Nationals will be held on the August Long Weekend at TMSA... The schedule on the IPSC BC website is more of a "place marker" than anything else.

The shooting schedule has not been set.

A website is in the works and more information will be made available on the website when it comes.

So stay tuned... :)

there are a couple of reasons for not scheduling sunday for shooting Nationals (and i am sure Sean can correct or add to my comments.) First off the Banquet is sunday night. For the last few years we have encouraged people to come to this dressed up. this is hard to do if you are on the range shooting till 5 and have to be at the banquet for 6. it is our one "formal" event of the year as a National group and I think showing up in something better then range attire is appropriate.

Another reason to keep sunday in reserve is in case of a back up during the normal days of shooting. this allows time to finish the match. Back ups could be caused by weather or having to repair a stage. consider it a form of match insurance.

Walter nailed all the reasons except one - it also gives decent time to finalize the stats without killing the stats teams and post final scores with plenty of time for people to bring thier concerns forward.

We've been lucky - lots of good weather at nationals so far, but one of these years, we just might have to use Sunday.

i forgot about stats! :( and i know better.

as for weather there is nothing like watching the wind lift a 60 pound draw bridge from 30 degrees off of vertical and slamming it shut and wondering if the wind is going to die down before Sunday!

So does this mean shooting is usually Fri and Sat with banquet and awards Sunday?

If so, this could make it better for flying in and out. Fly in Thur. Shoot two days. Fly home Sunday. May not have to miss any work. That would be a bonus :)

Might just be a spectator then this year. Figures. Closer it is harder it is to make.

Match will be Thursday, Friday, Saturday.

Shoot-off and banquet on Sunday.

So we shoot 3 days?

Sorry for the dumb questions but I have never been before. I need to be clear so I can book the proper time off.

This was my first year in IPSC and I enjoyed it immensely. I attended the BC Provs and now I really want to do the Nationals next year.

In past Nationals:

You shoot two half days. In some cases you have to work a day as well.

You should plan to be there for the whole thing.
