Location of 2010 IPSC Canada Nationals

I've never been to a big match like this before. Can someone give me an idea on what time I'll need to be at the range on Wednesday to sign in? I'm trying to figure out how much travel time I'll have that day.

Nawww...that's boring. On the start signal, we should do a 100 meter dash, chug a ROOT beer, then have to rappel down a cliff, snort a teaspoon of tabasco sauce, touch a baseball bat to our forehead and spin around it 15 times, recite the alphabet backwards THEN retrieve the gun, load all ammo from components on a press using mystery components before actually shooting the steel.

Pffft, where's the challenge in that? Don't you think we should also have to assemble a gun inside a potato sack from a mixed bag of parts? Man, just like the old days eh?

yay, I got the days off during the week, so no missing it this year!

working on bringing a couple top shooters up out of the USA for this match, and to teach a course just prior to, or just after. Most likely geared toward PD shooters, but will be open to all.

Hey Rob, what div. are you planning on shooting this year. I'm on the fence and need some inspiration to chose which one. Count me in for any course offered as well. I am sure I can coerce Wicked Police to join in. Maybe even drag Darcy,Bob,and Paul out of retirement.

Well it'll be Production Div for sure. As for Wicked P he has to get his BB course done first!

registration will likely be at the match hotel and usually runs until 8pm or so. Of course these thing can change, but that's how it's been done in the past.
as for the shoot off, a dueling tree would be kind of cool, you know the ones where you can reset the other guys steel?

Those are a waste of ammunition, because there is no definite end in sight for the shootoff. I ran one for fun against a friend down in the US. With big sticks/regular sticks, we could have run close to 200 rounds and neither of us would probably have won.

People are not likely to have an extra 300 rounds to waste on the shootoff after traveling by plane to BC and shooting a big match. Keep it simple.

the duelling tree been done. i do believe (i have checked with the memory and she agrees) that it was at the last Nationals held in the lower mainland, the 25 Anniversary one.

They didn't run it as a dueling tree, though. They were convinced just before the shootoff that to run it as a dueling tree wouldn't have worked, primarily due to the ammo requirements.

There were 5 poppers and the dueling tree per competitor. The tree acted as a vertical plate rack only.

When we have used the trees for a duel it could come down to who ran out of ammo first, but usually it comes down to somebody doing a reload and losing.
