Lockhart Tactical - Underbarrel 12G Shotgun - RELEASE

I personally wouldn't even be brave enough to try it on Keymod I'm thinking..

And I didnt notice it until you pointed that out about the 715T.. I can't imagine that holding up at all - would make for an interesting torture test/youtube video.. but i'll pass ;)

I gotta correct my statement, the side rails on the 715T are held on by 2 pot metal screws, but the other primary rails are just molded low strength abs plastic but still for sure disaster waiting to happen.

So since ya said this to me earlier in the thread...

Its for Pic, however on keymod, just get a good pic rail attached to it and you're good to go! ;)

So..........what exact brand and model keymod rails would your company suggest for mounting this under barrel shotgun?

Has Lockhart done any testing with the UBS-12 on Keymod equipped firearms?

Is it possible to get an answer to my question yet or is testing with different brand keymod rails being performed at the moment?

This product screams awesome but I don't want to see anyone get hurt by it being mounted on keymod and failing.

You cant run a keymod rail with this. The design of the holes will make the shotgun come loose.

Ya I was really hoping this wasn't a total write off for keymod platforms........way she goes I guess.

So here are our questions

1) What would you call it.
2) We will be offering the unit in BLACK hard anodized. However... Who wants to see FDE Cerakote? Cost would probably be a bit more, but hopefully nothing to crazy. Let us know!
3) What will you be mounting our unit on?
4) Are you following us on facebook? www.Facebook.com/LockhartTactical

I might just be a little biased.....but, I think Cerakote would look awesome. USMC Red. hmmmmm.

They are not quite released yet.
As we are finalizing our GEN2 model which has the quick attach buttstock!

we got word back from the RCMP the other day that these are 100% NON RESTRICTED>
(this is what we expected)

Which is a huge win for every firearm owner in Canada!

Prototype for QUICK RELEASE buttstock for the Lockhart Tactical UBS-12 under barrel 12ga shotgun.

When not needed under your primary firearm, quick detach the under barrel shotgun and quick attach the light weight aluminum buttstock.

We'll also have a quick attach optic mount that will HOLD zero! Making our unit an incredible dual purpose firearm.

Points to note:
1) not shown in picture, but a limb saver buttstock pad will come installed to help reduce felt recoil
2) clamp on breaching muzzle break tips will be avail
3) buttock features our own system for quick release and fast attach
4) not shown yet, but an optics mount will quick attach and detach which will hold optical zero
5) all of our parts are made here in Canada
6) will be available in BLACK anodized or colored cerekote
7) pistol grip will be moved forward to mate as close to trigger guard as possible

We're open to suggestions on how to make our final buttstock look.
Send us your recommendations!

We're thinking of either making the buttstock look more minimalist by removing the 30 degree bracing arm, and also adding an optics rail clamp in a safe place.
This clamp would be used to attach the optics rail for storage when your UBS is under barrel mounted.

To clarify, the attachment clamps on the TOP of the UBS (where it attaches to the primary rifle), is where our special optics rail will seat when the UBS has the buttstock attach in its Micro Combat Shotgun Configuration.
The optics mount will be designed and made in a way that it sits in the locking lugs of the UBS-12 QR clamps to ensure the optic holds zero time after time when removing and replacing your optic. Storing the optic on the buttstock, ensures you can't lose your optic and it's ready for immediate attachment.

Let us know your thoughts!

When is the underbarrel release date?

We had hoped to have it out already, but instead of releasing a GEN 1 model with GEN 2 (QR buttstock) shortly after, and pissing off everyone who just bought GEN 1, we decided to just do a perfect launch.

We still hope it's going to be fast! Just finishing up the buttstock design.
Your help makes it faster! ;)

At this point in time, we won't have an AR style buffer attachment, as we need to ensure a minimum OAL to keep this non restricted!
However.... the second our buttstock is done, we'll probably be making some other mounts for those who might want to use the UBS-12 on longer barreled firearms.. so OAL isn't a concern. For those, we'd have AR style tubes avail.

If users love the buttstock, i'll try to get them bolt on ready for Remington 870, 1100's and mossberg 500 to start.

Seriously, your feed back helps!

minimalist for light weight?

Did i mention ambi integrated push button sling points? and ambi 5 round QD shell holder?
We plan on drilling and tapping the LEFT and RIGHT side of the buttstock. A small pic rail (2.5") can be mounted here (either side) or just one on the side you want it..
Then we have QR 5 round shot shell holders that clamp on in a second.

Why QR?
Multiple reasons:
1) Its cool!
2) It's the easiest to ensure if you need it, you put it on without the need for tools, or vise versa.
3) QR will allow you to have multiple shell holders at the ready!

Breaching doors? attach your breaching rounds in a second
Defense Shotgun? Buckshot is standing by...

You get the idea.

Instead of a clamp on muzzle device, could you not just thread the barrels? And offer different choke tubes, breachers and stand-off devices to be attached. This would be much cleaner and stronger.

If we made the barrels etc, than yes!

However at this point in time, we'rre using purchased firearms that we sell, and making a kit out of our special mount and their shotgun. Mainly clamp on lets clients who already own the shotguns to be able to do this, without expensive costs!

Why weren't key mod rails made in reverse that way they could handle more of the recoil since the rail would be impacting the end of its original travel for attachment
