Brief Cases
This is an excellent idea and a good point. I used to be in the computer business before laptops became so common. Thieves of various sorts would key on a laptop case from 100 yds particularly at airports. I always advised my clients to carry their machine in a case that didn't look like a laptop bag.
I follow the same plan with my guns and bought a decent over size lockable brief case. The idea of using foam cut to measure works but so does using an inexpensive gun rug. I can put three guns in my case this way and have a pocket for all my documentation and room for another few items I take everywhere including some basic tools.

I have an old Dewalt drill case modified to fit my pistol. So the neighbor's "just visiting between stays at the jail" kid thinks I'm just going to help someone build a deck.
