I have a reinforced closet that I use to store my rifles and ammunition. The door is solid core, with a dead bolt and locking knob. Both have reinforcement plates to prevent the door from splitting should it be kicked in. The door jam also has steel plates to help prevent the door jam from splitting.
My question, I am waiting on my RPAL at the moment but would like to be prepared once it shows up. I am trying to figure out a good way to store pistols in the space. I dont have room to add more shelving, and the shelves in there are full of ammo and other firearms related stuff. I know I am only required to have pistols double locked, door and trigger lock, but I was thinking a clam shell type locking device that fastens to a stud and then around the pistol. I have a design on paper, but before I start construction I thought Id see what other people do.
What does everyone else use?
Ideas would be great.
Thanks
