He's a costly friend, that's for sure, but a damned good one nonetheless!

.. Don't be bring them big noisy contraptions out here to my play ground and scarring all my deer.(Unless your calling first with an invite anyway):D :D
...Now that is a sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet looking toy. I should get one and piss off Kodiak99317 with it's noise.:D

Not often you get to watch one of these online. I see it all the time, but we call them "work".

Now you too go kiss and make up. Enjoy the dishes Brian!

Geeesh, can't believe all you guys are sideing with her.....that just hurts:) Ok the .50 is Debs...guess I have to go buy my own.:p :D :D :D :D :dancingbanana:

Kodiak I've been at work pretty steady the last couple weeks and sunset is coming early up here now so have only been to the range once to set a 500yrd zero with a few rounds and let some friends try it out, And Danger Deb of course!;) :) . I hope to be out next weekend to run it through its paces. One thing I did notice is if you set up clay pigeons as targets, don't set them to close. Bullet impact and concusion would make 2-4 pigeons roll down the bank and it digs a nice size gopher hole with the 750grn A-max:dancingbanana:

LRC and the rest of us that shoot our precision rifles at Ft. Mac., we have been seeing several new holes in our steel, can you let those that you see kow that we don't tolerate FMJ ammo on our gongs if if the ammo puts holes in them in the gongs?
It doesn't ake a 50BMG to do it to a ram at 500, a magnum will if the bullet ius pushed .
A 200 meter chicken is a cinch with FMJ or tough hunting bullets out of a 300 mag.

This has become a big concern in the last few months

Dave, I am not aware of deliberate damage to the gongs, Im sure you know if I was I would inform you after I run the offenders from the club. You are aware of the ammo I use and know they dont damage gongs. The majority of my shooting is at clay pigeons or paper. The only FMJ ammo I have seen evidence of is 7.62X39 fired from either SKS or CZ858 evidence of the steel cases is all over the range, rarely picked up. But I cannot see them penetrating the gongs unless they are right up on them when shooting. Things during hunting season get a little crazy out there as you know with people going down range and bringing gongs forward, and bringing all types of garbage out to shoot at. I think for next year we should look at a range officer type program to enforce range rules and add a little safety to the shooting. Believe it or not had one guy start to head down range last week while people were still on the fireing line shooting......makes you think maybe we should just let them go sometimes.

We are in the process of generating a duty roster now.
The prooblem with our silhouettes is theyy are made of high tensiile strentgh T1 steel, which breaks instead of mushrooms when it is hit with an FMJ or Barnes style bullet going fast.

This tends to crack them, and at the cost of replacement, I am not going to let this go on any loonger.
The way we have controlling the line is taking action and naming a Temporary RO when we arrive, be it myself or one of the many other members who are in the know.
Old Badger remains our official club R.O.
