Most of people interested in LR shooting, shoot non-restricted rifles on crown lands. In Ontario, that means a long drive away from cities. Find some slope or hill to act as a backstop. Few lucky ones own properties that are large enough and have built backstops.
I found LR associations very repulsive and intrusive and will never join any. And not to forget that their fee is way too high.
Repulsive: Maybe it's you?I found LR associations very repulsive and intrusive and will never join any. And not to forget that their fee is way too high.

Care to explain/ expand on that comment?
I have noted the complete opposite. LR shooters are some of the nicest people you can meet. Fees are also incredibly low. I'm afraid you are insane. Sorry about your luck. But I would still welcome you with open arms to a clinic or match.
Wow, I think we got ourselves a troll
Best way to learn LR shooting is to join the ORA or any other PRA, I'm sure glad I did. Sure there is the odd duck but that's part of life and is true for any organization, just deal with it.
There are a lot of people in such community who guard their inner circle. Just join and see for yourself. Many guys joined and then never renewed because of such attitude. Its not the cost of equipment and travel, its that some people think they own everything associated with LR shooting. Again, join and you will see.....
Hey guys just working on a new 1000 yard range what would be a fair annual membership fee it would also have a restricted section
There's another thread running about this place in General DiscussionWhere is this proposed range?
