The long lasting cold snap broke in the past couple days... today was +4C and sunny... so my son and I grabbed a few guns and boxes of ammo and headed to the skeet range... it hasn't been plowed all winter... we had to slog through two feet of wet snow from the main road to the club... this old guy was huffing and puffing pretty good. After the long winter and a serious case of cabin fever it felt great to be in the sun and smelling gun powder again. I gave a new Citori Lightning 20 gauge a good work out, and found it fit me nicely, and powdered it's share of clays... Also determined that the ROCK HARD pad on my Citori 12 gauge, is way too uncomfortable... so that will be changed asap... the gun weighs as much as a Volkswagen, so recoil is not the issue... It was after shooting a few stations with my son's 692, and feeling the difference... significant.
Makes me start "chomping at the bit" for turkey season...
Any one else getting out after the long winter? What are your local weather conditions like?
