Look What Bravo Company Has....

Just to be clear yes I am a paid spokesman of BCM - I am not impartial; I only affiliate with people and companies in the firearms industry that make excellent products and have great reputations

I make a very good living in the firearms industry; I have been on TV with my own shows for several years, I have products that I have designed ( such as my sling ) that are in use by militaries around the world, and I travel across the USA training people in combat marksmanship

If any of that makes you feel like you can't trust my word then trust me on this part; I'm already over it

Guys, stuff gets to a certain level of "goodness" and that's all she wrote - when everything detail of an upper (or a rifle) is sweated by pros, there's very little more that can happen. Once you're into the realm of all around excellent - best quality materials, best practices and expert assembly by people with decades of experience, comparison of excellent rifle 'A' to excellent rifle 'B' is kind of pointless, or is that just me?

I figured they were comparable. I know the specs are pretty much the same. Anyone who has seen both have any thoughts on them?

Not a fan of the "best practices" buzzword. It's rampant at my place of work. I generally mistrust that term. Soooo let me get this straight rather than letting me know what those practices are you are just going to tell me it's best practices? Well I'm relieved worst practices aren't being employed. The other popular answer:Hmm the answer to that question is "policy" is it? So which policy? Is that actual policy or perceived policy? Or is it just a convenient answer without actually answering anything? I don't like buzzwords that are used to answer something without answering it.

Sorry for the rant. I just hate the BS pseudo business model and the lingo that goes with it. Has nothing to do with the rifle, just a pet peeve of mine. Done venting. :D

Best Practises seem to come from the ISO standardization. Documenting Processes, and adapting those processes to solve any issues, and a lengthy and detailed document chain to ensure that everything runs smoothly.

Paul at Bravo is a truly great guy, and I'm really happy he was able to bring this project home -- and I for one, well I am planning to get one.

Sorry for using the lingo - I've done an ISO conversion (in a past life) - and it bugged me too when I was forced to eat it 24/7. What I was referring to in the AR field is stuff like HPT, shot peening, parking under the FSB etc.

That's cool....nothing wrong with being a paid celebrity spokesman...lot's of my favourite celebrities endorse products. I own two George Foreman Grills and I bought a Porter Cable reciprocating saw just because Norm Abram made it look so cool.

LAV - by "out" I hope you meant "out" of this thread as obviously it ain't going anywhere good anytime soon..

I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks your experience in the firearm field is more than appreciated on CGN.

And hey, you've already squared off and killed any thoughts of a possible LAV action doll...err "figure".

No I'm still here - I had a warm reception this year at One Shot Tactical's demo day and Farmboy has been a big supporter of my sling for many years

Ill be honest my bull#### meter is about pegged with some of the crap I see posted on the Internet so that is why I am so touchy these days

Jeff Cooper said it best ; ' The problem with the Internet is it is full of people who have nothing to say that say it anyway '

Well said Jeff, well said

Be safe

That's good to know LAV.

Darren is a great lad. Only have great things to say about the VCAS slings I've bought from him. Heck I even bought one for my xbow.

It wasn't Larry who said it, it was fngoof (****ed up quote function) but I defy you to show me an endorsement of a PC Recip saw....ain't gonna happen :)

Delta was owned by PC for a short time...and delta doesnt make small tools (but PC does)..... But either way: meh.

WW...someone who knows a thing or two about this stuff ;)

Whoa, Kevin Boland and Larry Vickers on the same thread.... CGN is turning into a classy place to hang out.

I'm getting a kick out of seeing "Newbie" next to LAV's avatar.

I didn't dig a hole, and I'm not backpedaling.

Like most thing in life, you get what you pay for.

A ~$400 upper made by anyone probably isn't as good as a ~$1000 upper made by the same company; therefore, one could assume that the $400 upper is crappy, or "crappier" than one that costs more.

That Upper was $500 with NO BCG, No Charging Handle and NO Rail. Add another $500 for some of that stuff and you have a $1000 upper.
In the U.S that is.
Bring it up here and it will be $1299..... Sounds like a high end upper to me. Not a crappy upper.

I respectfully request that Mr. Vickers submits the length of his beard AND the brand of sunglasses he wears to the CGN community so his tier oneness can be determined!

I figured the C8SFW upper/carbine would be popular in the great white North - I'll give Paul B at BCM a heads up to expect One Shot Tactical to be ordering some for you guys

Personally I want to shoot it to see what kind of accuracy I get out of it- barrels to weird things when weight/tension is applied at different points along its length- sometimes good things, sometimes not

We shall see
