moose have not become tougher since grandpa hunted them you know
I heard from a guy in a gunstore that now game animals are all wearing ballistic vests, so you need a cartidge with a belt to defeat it.

well then I guess you have a good excuse to own that 14.5 lol
The 14.5x114mm has no belt, so that means its not magnum enough![]()
Out here in Alberta farm country you need to reach out a ways. The 7mm Rem Mag was the ticket when i was growing up. They were considered expensive rifles then and kind of exotic. So that is what I have now and I am not sorry. I have killed deer with everything from a 22-250 to 375 H&H, I have killed cattle with a 22 long rifle. Hit right they all fall down.
i think if i was hunting moose, to make sure it was dead or incapable of trampling me, i dont mind the extra recoil![]()

joking about what? when it comes to a damn moose, i know guys that have hunted them, and theyve told me yeah the 30-30 can get the job done, but i think id take my 7mm ive seen the destruction power of that thing, thats why i dont use it for deer anymore
