Cost
$500 for the gun
$250 for the barrel
$249 + 5% for the import fee (on the gun alone)
$30 each for the 10 round mags
12% HST at the border on the gun and mags
So approximately $1,200 for the one - I paid slightly less because I brought in more than one of these.
Process - from beginning to end, approximately three months - we had some hiccups along the way
- Emailed Joel @ Borderview of what I wanted
- Joel sent me email confirming that 'yes' it was possible and 'yes' they were available
- Paid for the guns and export process via US money order
- Applied for an international import certificate (IIC) from DFAIT
- Joel did his magic with Dept of State in regards to export permits
- Called/emailed with the RCMP firearms tech - got the FRT created in about 2 weeks
- Registered the firearms with the CFC and got the certs from CFC
- Waited
- Waited some more
- Waited a little longer
- Received approval from Dept of State
- Went to Dave's Sports in Lynden, WA - did the barrel swap in the shop
- Went back to the border with IIC, CFC reg certs, Borderview invoice, and ATT
- Joel's partner delivered the guns to Abbotsford crossing, he filed his paperwork with the CBSA guy
- CBSA opened all the guns, inspected them, checked my ATT
- Checked my invoice, paid my taxes
- Drove home with my new guns
