Looking for a high end tactical style bolt-action .22LR - what are my options?

keep an eye on Dan Killough's website, might be something that shows up that is worth while importing...........

Wow thanks for the vid link! Unreal. So fast and smooth. Like you mentioned, my only issue will be sourcing the other parts (stock, etc). How do I mount a scope on that action? Dovetail?

The AI mounts work great at this but yes its a dovetail 11mm on the action. The AI mounts allow for 30 and 34mm scopes from 18moa/28moa to 45moa at different heights. This was a 34mm mount at 1.3" up in the picture. The one listed above in my first post would drop everything closer yet to the barrel with a 30mm scope tube.

Oh I just want to add Anschutz 1907 is single shot (I wanted a repeater too but it wasn't on sale)
if you want a repeater, you want this

Fortner action is very very nice, very fast, but I needed a trainer to sorta mimic my AIAW, therefore I choose Annie 54, YMMV.

Those are definitely nice rigs, but not quite what I’m in the market for. I’m looking for an Audi or Porsche, not a Ferrari :)

Here’s an example of more my style right now (minus the sh**ty scope):

A Hart-action with a Lilja barrel in the Accuracy International stock and a S&M PMII, like the one my pal Neill has, might be what you are looking for. IF you have around nine and a half thousand to spend on a .22 rimfire.

A integral suppressor on a 77/22 might get you in trouble in Canada! http://www.snipercentral.com/tactical-operations-green-hornet/ :)

The SAKO build might be your best bet at something like that! Or a Anschutz 1712 in a McMillan stock.

Not quite ;)
I spoke to Mike R. from Tac Ops and he'll make me one with a non-suppressed Kreiger or Volquartsen heavy bull barrel (as seen in the last two pics, which are from a rifle from California). He will also mill off the dovetail and attach a picatinny rail and whatever else I want added :)
It just seems like the most logical setup right now. And I can use my 10/22 mags, which I have many of.

Can you tell me more about the Anschutz 1712 in a McMillan stock?

Wow that's expensive!! Do you have any pics by chance? I'd love to see it! I may consider something like that in a few years once things settle down around here!

how about a TOYOTA? CZ455 trainer in Manner's stock, put on a large bolt nob and cerakote the barrel and action you are set, I owned one before, it was super nice.

That sounds like fun! You better post pics if you get that done!!!!

A picture of my 77/22 before i sold it :( Would buy that back in a heartbeat if the CGNer who bought it was so inclined!

For another Fortner option go here... http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/foru...632-Anschutz-1727F-17HMR-Straight-Pull-Action if you want a 17HMR straight pull

or here for the 1712... http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php/1227582-Anschutz-Hunting-Line-22LR-amp-17HMR

and here for the stock... https://www.mcmillanusa.com/mcmillan-rifle-stocks/hunting-stocks-additional-rimfire-mag-varmint/

If Mike calls me back to get the ball rolling, I’ll definitely be posting pics when it’s done! I think I’ll go that route for now as the 17/22 is a proven platform, kind of like the Remington 700 (I’m an Accuracy International guy, which should motivate me to buy the Anschutz…) :p

On that note, Mike was explaining to me how he is an armourer for the LA County Sheriff’s Dept and how they use these Green Hornet .22s quite often for urban work, such as shooting porch lights out before a takedown, as one of several examples he used. Mike fully blueprints the action and basically rebuilds the entire rifle from the ground up. I figure it’s like a 10/22 vs a KIDD or Volquartsen in the sense that they effective are 10/22 rifles, only custom built by Kidd, etc. The Green Hornet is a factory 77/22 that’s been fully re-done into something amazing.

That’s a neat stock dizzy ;)
I’m not so sure they make one for the 77/22 tho. Maybe a custom order.

I had one but sold it. It was a 452 Varmint. I had the first Manners MCS-T4 stock (custom OD Green) for the 452 Varmint to come to Canada :) I remember ordering it on the phone and Manners had to custom build it because they weren’t making them at the time. It took a while to get. A couple of years after that they signed a deal with CZ-USA and started throwing them on their Precision Trainer models. It was an amazing rifle.
