Where I live and camp often worry about rabbits, heard some people say slug/buckshot/slug /buckshot but wondering if I should go pump or a sxs, if it's a rabid killer bunny I may need to pump both barrels in him at once but would have no follow up shots, and we all know how fast rabbits can sprint, just need advice don't want to be rabbit food next hiking season

Rabbits are never alone. Worry about the ones you can't see. Because after the first couple fall, the others will charge your besieged camp. Always carry an abundance of ammo and be proficient at shooting and reloading fast. Most important is always be ready. They're out there.... waiting.

Now are these rabbits the newly cloned and genetically modified rodents. with flying squirrel DNA mixed in? You will not be allowed to use anything larger than # 7 1/2 shot, so a semi auto is a must. The sticky part comes in if the new flying rabbits are considered or classed together with waterfowl so you are limited to 2 in the magazine.

Tricky to see in the winter coloration:

Harder still in the spring to late fall:

Shotgun just won’t do it. You will need a 50 bmg sniping rifle, those little b*ggers are too fast. The farther away you are the better. One tip,use stove pipes as leg guards. Forgot about blunderbusses, just remember to add a few rusty nails to add to the spread.

Nothing less than this...

I literally was attacked by these furry menaces one time when I brought a huge bag of old carrots to a park filled with wild rabbits.

At least 50 immediately surrounded me and started jumping up on me in a frenzy, I practically threw the bag away and fled !

Use any shotgun you prefer but definitely load it with Dragons Breath shells. Nothing like a flaming face full of burning magnesium to deter small woodland creatures.
