why?
it came to mind that the capacity changes! I could see that being a bad idea (legally)

I have a 226 and a 229, with 1x .40S&W mag (factory SIG) each (just to try out).
The 226 holds 14x 9mm, the 229 holds 12x 9mm. Not sure about eating the cost of replacing all my mags, but they have fed and dropped free every time, and don't spill any remaining rounds.
Right now, when I shoot, they are the starter mag, and subsequent reloads with my standard 10-rd 9mm mags...if I have excess cash flying around, I may bite the bullet and replace all my mags (6x 226, 3x 229).
