Hey guys I'm looking for recommendations on my first 9mm pistol. I would like to maybe get into ipsc in the future. Some friends at my local range shoot just about every week, and I'm looking to join in on the fun even if it is only that. I've been looking at 9mm firearms for the past few days and I can't make up my mind, mainly because I don't know all the rules for competition as I've never done it before, and because I want a gun that can be used for 3 gun as well if I ever decide to join in that arena.
So I've been looking at 3 pretty closely and I'm looking for input from people with more experience.
First I'm looking at the Ruger American duty in 9mm. It's a beautiful firearm and you can't beat Ruger's for reliability and customer service. I know this isn't a common firearm in these competitions, but who's to say I can't be a pioneer haha.
Second is the cz Shadow 1. I know this is a favourite of the sport, and I expect most replies here to say get the cz and don't look back. It's a very nice firearm as well.
Last is the canik tp9, not sure what trim I like, because it comes with a holster, and extra magazine. It's essentially everything I would need to get started.
The price point is a factor for me. The Ruger being the cheapest option of the 3, while the cz is on the high end of my budget. Any and all input is greatly appreciated, and by all means, anything I left out that you think I should research a bit more go ahead and include it. I'm not dead set on one of these three, but to me they look like the best options so far.
