Looking for help with a norinco 1897

I had the same problem. Norinco’s are a mishmash of English and metric screws . The screw you are talking about is 4-48 on mine. I made my own. The other problem is that the left and right are different. Also the way they work is that they left scre tends to tighten and the right tends to loosen

Okay awesome, good to know, just to be clear we are talking about the cartridge stop screw, that acts as the pivot pin for the cartridge stops, located underneath the receiver, on either side of the loading port?

Hopefully this can help me fine sometime to use!

Ok so finally an update.

My die arrived from China, finally!

I can confirm the thread for the most recent and last run of these 1897 guns is 100% M3x0.35

Heres the pin I whipped up. Used some higher carbon steel, its tough but didnt cold blue well.
