Looking for ideas for a big bore hunting rifle

.35 Whelen all the way. Here is the 225 Grain Barnes-X Triple Shock bullet that I recovered out of my moose from a 160 yard shot this fall. The bullet penetrated about 40" into the animal with a straight on chest shot. Those are my initials engraved on the back of the bullet that allow me to lay claim. I wasn't the only guy pulling the trigger at the time.

Gonna have to let folks know what you already have, what are the conditions the rifle will be used under, and do you want to shoot factory only. The larger cals are not the ticket for off the shelf ammo , big time$$$. 30-06 and 7 mag is not too bad a price for off the shelf ammo. A win/rem/ruger bolt gun, single shot, semi's ,and pumps, are all good depending on its use.

If you think the 375 Ruger is cool, also check out the 375 Dakota (hell, the entire Dakota line), or the 375 Sako.

For me, in the 375 bore, it's gotta be the infamous 378 wby :D :D

Already have a 35 Whelen and a 45-70. Like 'em both just fine !

Next ... probably a 375 H&H, but just looked at a Beretta 689 Gold Sable
over & under in 9.3 x 74R that's grabbed my attention of late !
