Looking for short powerful lever action recommendations

Did PR really get 454s last week? Are they back in production?

Would love to see one in a synthetic stock like the 44

Love my Chiappa Ridge Runner. The 12" barrel coupled with the Holoson 507 Gen2 green dot is extremely fast on target. I think the 3+1 capacity will deal with most issues. Generally in close up problems you're lucky to get off 1 or 2 shots. Only downside is they are not lightweights.

I've got a Chiappa Wildlands with a 18.5" barrel in 45-70 and it's a heavy rifle. I was always curious how the 12" ridge runner was for weight. Doesn't sound like much better. Having said that though if I didn't buy the wildlands I probably would have bought the short ridge runner. Cool gun!

Just a consideration if you’re looking for lighter weight, when I was comparing the 1892 to 1886 (.44mag to 45-70) the 1892 is about 2lbs lighter and about 1.5” shorter OAL (same barrel lengths) due to the lighter and smaller receiver. Plus 6 in the tube vs 3.

This is mine with a 13” barrel in .44 mag

Have you owned or shot a short lever gun much? I only ask because I have had a few shorter levers and never warmed up to them. I always keep going back to the 20" carbine. Just seems to me that is the best balance between length, weight and fit. That's just me though.

That's perfect! Custom? If so where did you get it done? I would be happy with that

I did have a mares leg in 45lc that I used heavy hand loads in, loved it other than the big loop ( I like the small loops )
And the lack of a stock

It’s a chiappa 1892 13”, it’s from their new black series just released. Has a lot of nice feature including cerakote, skinner peep sight with rail and FO front, threaded barrel. Stocked are coated with a textured finish and it’s pretty light weight overall.

I got mine from Reliable and looks like they have one left in stock

I'd recommend you look for a used 16" barreled stainless LSI Puma M92 in 454 Casull.

I have this rifle but with a 20" barrel I had Peter of Rusty Wood Trading company do an action job on it.

It feeds everything from light 200gr 45 Colt to my top 405gr 454 Casull loads holds ten 45 Colt or nine 454 Casull.

I call it my little 45-70 because no matter what people tell you it does not come close to the performance of my Marlin lever action loads.

Here is a picture of a friend of mine shooting it.

I'm trying to figure out if a Ranger Point Precision forend will fit on it.

Some of my loads

Its accurate too...

WOW look what I found on gunbroker Prophet River could get it for you.

Rossi Puma M92, .454 Casull, Stainless Steel, 16 In Barrel.
