I have a 454 Casull, there is lots of power there.
Agreed... think the Taylor's Alaskan takedown in 44mag loaded with Buffalo bore might be the ticket...under 6 pds and recoil would be lighter for the wife.
Wish they made it in 14"

Did PR really get 454s last week? Are they back in production?
Would love to see one in a synthetic stock like the 44

Love my Chiappa Ridge Runner. The 12" barrel coupled with the Holoson 507 Gen2 green dot is extremely fast on target. I think the 3+1 capacity will deal with most issues. Generally in close up problems you're lucky to get off 1 or 2 shots. Only downside is they are not lightweights.
Same price as the 357s?
Just a consideration if you’re looking for lighter weight, when I was comparing the 1892 to 1886 (.44mag to 45-70) the 1892 is about 2lbs lighter and about 1.5” shorter OAL (same barrel lengths) due to the lighter and smaller receiver. Plus 5 in the tube vs 3.
This is mine with a 13” barrel in .44 mag

Have you owned or shot a short lever gun much? I only ask because I have had a few shorter levers and never warmed up to them. I always keep going back to the 20" carbine. Just seems to me that is the best balance between length, weight and fit. That's just me though.
That's perfect! Custom? If so where did you get it done? I would be happy with that
