I was all set on a non-res black rifle, but since I don't hunt regularly anyway (and if I went, I'd take my bolt), the AR is looking like a better and better option for me.
I've been doing a bit of reading, and it's still a bit much to really get everything without a bit of hands on, but what's looking good to me right now is an LMT lower, and a Yankee Hill Specter Black Diamond complete upper (though I'm having a hard time finding anyone who sells those in Canada, any hints?). Ultimately, I'd like to be able to switch configurations between a scoped long range rifle, a CQB with EOTech, and a carbine with an ACOG or similar. Getting the parts to change one rifle into any of these configurations makes more sense to me than getting three different rifles (plus there's the whole joy of assembling it each time).
Does anyone have any recommended further reading (preferably web, but book suggestions also welcome) so that by the time I can afford this, I'll at least have a half decent idea of what I'm doing?
Anyway, I feel more confident going into this knowing that there's knowledgeable people around here who have always been happy to answer my questions in the past, so thanks!
