I've read a bunch here about getting an ATT to go get a restricted. A lot of it is crap, or just old information. There is really no need for temporaries, applications or anything like that.

How I got mine in 2 days, not counting the weekend.

Email cfpcfounit@rcmp-grc.gc.ca with the subject LTATT application and include in the email;

1. Your Full name.
2. Your RPAL number.
3. Your proof of Range Membership.

Say thanks and wait. You do not need any ATT applications.

If you don't have a Range Membership, use Silvercore. Google it. $30 and you'll have a letter that says your a member in good standing. They even send the ATT application form, that you don't need.

This is the information I was given by the CFO CFP MOUSE folks. I emailed them Friday afternoon and got my LTATT Tuesday 1pm. Those folks there rock!

That's how I received mine. Same day turn around as well. When I spoke to them on the phone, they said 3 days, but I had my LATT in my inbox by the end of day. No application, just an email with my details.

Hey Big Sherm, you a travelling man? I'm just down the corridor from you, but I like looking East.

I travel occasionally. Spend most of my time is Squamish, my mom lives there. Might be at a really really big BC family gathering this weekend...

Thanks for the info. I sent in my application last week but had no restricted firearms. That changed this week so if I don't hear from them by next week I will give this a shot.

I went to the cfo building in Surrey to get a secondary storage and needed to update the ltatt for it (or something along those lines,it was a while ago) Took me 20mins to get home and then another 40mins or so after that a lady called to confirm some things on the paper work. After everything was done I got an email 10mins after that with everything done and just had to print it off. Within a couple hours I had everything and was good to go. I couldn't believe how quick and easy it all was.

Good to see they got there act together just in time to watch the LTATT go the way of the Dodo bird. Nothing motivates the civil service more than the threat of losing their jobs.

Here in BC the change won't be that noticeable - it hasn't been hugely onerous to get a LTATT, more like a minor itch - but if I was in Ontario, I'd be dancing a happy jig. No more club involvement, no more CFO foot dragging, no more invitations to shoot, not being restricted to a single range, and no more waits for STATT to get your gun fixed - yup that's a big change for them.

Well there goofy Liberal provincial gov't still might be in play. The Fudds in charge of some of their ranges will be in play as well.
