I've read a bunch here about getting an ATT to go get a restricted. A lot of it is crap, or just old information. There is really no need for temporaries, applications or anything like that.
How I got mine in 2 days, not counting the weekend.
Email cfpcfounit@rcmp-grc.gc.ca with the subject LTATT application and include in the email;
1. Your Full name.
2. Your RPAL number.
3. Your proof of Range Membership.
Say thanks and wait. You do not need any ATT applications.
If you don't have a Range Membership, use Silvercore. Google it. $30 and you'll have a letter that says your a member in good standing. They even send the ATT application form, that you don't need.
This is the information I was given by the CFO CFP MOUSE folks. I emailed them Friday afternoon and got my LTATT Tuesday 1pm. Those folks there rock!
