Hey, my friend just won a raffle for a Ruger Mini-14 Target Rifle with the black laminated thumbhole stock.
He entered a raffle at The Gun Centre at Lovett's in Kitchener a few times after making some purchases. What a score.
He just stopped over at my shop on the way home after picking it up happier than a pig in slop. Lucky hog.
It's a nice rifle for sure. Looks well built. A bit heavy, but I couldn't put it down.
Kudos to the guys at The Gun Centre for such a raffle.
I was too envious to think of taking some actual photos while he was here.
What do you guys think of this model? Has a hammer forged barrel and an adjustable harmonic dampener for tuning minute of angle accuracy and came with Ruger scope rings. He bought a 3-9x40 Bell scope for it too.
Anyone have a chance to try any of the recent production Mini-14 models? Any feedback?? I'd like to pass on some info to him if I can. Any tips on the harmonic dampener?
Maybe find him a few full size magazines too if anyone here has any to part with.
