Luger gone, but what was it worth?

I see it all the time sometimes i get lucky and can talk the person into selling or donating
to museums ...I'm working on 2 MP firearms right now with some luck she won't send them to the police ..worst part is a retired RCMP is telling her to give them up ...

WHAT! I'm surprised usually in my experience Older RCMP members have more brains than that... and can even be human like... can't say that for the tazer happy younger ones we have joining now...

sorry to say my good friend died (ex RCMP) and his wife who is VERY anti gun wants them destroyed .her son is a Sargent(sp) in the RCMP doen't give a flying leap he is a great guy but to him a gun is a tool ...so she listens to this retired rcmp guy who her dead husband didn't have the time of day for..he says guns are evil turn them in

the husband and i spent quite a bit of time together at the range i got him interested in shooting again after he quit the force and he had a blast with my(his) friends and I at winona range .I miss him and i just want his guns to be spared ..one is a mint with reciept from the rcmp No4 Mk1* with PH5C sight and the other is one of the RCMP commemeratives that the officers had first choise in buying on order from winchester through the RCMP he even has the certificate to show it went to an RCMP .this cert wasn't given when sold to civvies...i'm still working on her

I will be happy to take that No.4 off her hands, been looking for a good LB for months. I am not joking either, if she is willing give me a PM. (I apologize if it sounds a little rude)

These stories absolutely kill me.

Grandpa's guns were important to him, or he wouldn't have held on to them. They have history and meaning to him, and should have equal meaning to his kids and grandchildren if they have any sense of familial unity.

Turning guns into the police for destruction is as simple-minded and coarse as taking Grandma's china out to the driveway and stomping it into dust, or crushing her silver in a press, or burning her wedding dress using the family photos as kindling. It's an affront to the people one claims to honour and love, and theft from those who would come after.

There is no clearer, more straightforward way to say "f**k you, Grandpa" than to turn his guns over to a government agency for destruction.

Think about that for a minute. How comfortable would you be with looking your grandfather square in the eye and saying "f**k you, old man. The things you found important are nothing to me. Your legacy is meaningless. The things that may remind your great-grandchildren of who you are and what you did are nothing to me." If someone would not be comfortable saying that nose-to-nose with their grandfather or grandmother or mom or dad, then they shouldn't be a chickens**t and say it after he or she is dead.

Pass the word. Preach the gospel. No firearms are to be turned in to the police for destruction if there's ever - EVER - an alternative. Their destruction is immoral. Save every single one you can, from the humblest rusty single-shot Cooey to the most beautiful 100% mint Artillery Luger. Don't let the soulless bureaucrats touch any of 'em.

Adopt a gun today.

I thought a luger could qualify as 12-7. That is whomever went to a verifier to register it said it was theri grandfathers from the war, and hence becomes 12-7. Is that not the purpose of the 12-7 class?
