LWRC SABR rifle pics

Its NOT an AR-10.

It doesn't use a single AR15 or AR10 part. Its been designed and engineered from the ground, although it 'appears' to look similar to an AR-10, mechanically its completely different.

Just like the Sig Classic Green/Black special compared to the Sig 550.

They appear the same, but are mechanically different, Hence the B-S and C-G (as well as the other full length ones) are non-restricted ;)

Fair enough... I would optimistically want it to be non-restricted as well.

But after seeing the RCMP brand the GSG-5 as a prohibited MP5 clone (when it doesn't share a single part with the MP5), I rapidly lost faith in the system.

Except the company who makes the GSG-5 advertised ti as an mp5 clone, LWRC NEVER advertised the rifle has an AR15 or AR10 clone, and has had the canadian regs in mind since the drawing board phase.

Kevin: If they don't put a 7.62 nato markings, collapsible stock and all the other stuff the BS regs prohibit, then we should be good to go.

Has our Govt ever looked at the internal workings of a gun before classifying it? Or does the Canada Govt just classify based on looks? The answer to that explains whether this rifle will be Restricted or not.

Internal workings like any other SR-25/AR10 type system?

Not from what i have read. It seems the auto version can fire open bolt from the second round on auto and returns to closed bolt when the selector is switched back to single... Using the same parts to build a semi, minus the disco items.

For those saying this is an AR15 variant, then my CZ-858 is an AK47.

You can drop a SR25/Mk11 on the SABR lower and vice versa...

You cannot intermingel CZ to AK parts (well except for ammo)

The SABR is not the IAR, and the IAR cannot be sold commerically since it is an open bolt MG.

So much promise, so much hype.

I'm not trying to be an ass, I want to pay someone for this product soooo,

Can someone tell me without getting their nickers in twist if the SABR is
1) not coming to Canada, period,
2) has not yet made it to the evaluation process but there is still hope, or
3) is currently being evaluated for status and might shortly be at an ArmsEast dealer near you?

Uninformed minds with cash in hand want to know.
