It will be interesting to see what kind of accuracy people can eek out of these things when they receive them......
What are you talking about? Wanstalls is selling them preorder for 1449$ and committing that price to preorders when you put your 250$ deposit, they can't change their minds and say the gun is 2500 in 2 months, thats not how sales works. If they did that they would be dead to me, and to a whole lot of other firearms owners in the community.
If you want one for 1449 go to the Wanstalls site and preorder one now.
I don't see what the issue is here.

I sure am happy that I avoided the temptation of the T81. Having owned several Norinco AKs back in the day and judging by the recent photos, the T81s look to be the typical Chinese combination of sharp internal edges and mediocre, rust-prone salt-bluing. All packaged in a retro design that won't even mount an optic, let alone an illuminator. No thanks - the 1980s were "Meh" the first time.around!
I was told by M+M that they never had a exclusive distributor for Canada, and that they are working but are at the hands of authorities. Canada Ammo seems upset that the "other" dealer went and beat them to a pre order. The other dealer obviously was involved in bringing this rifle up here and wont just do a pre order without knowing what they are able to get them for.
It's clear who was there first. The RCMP lists can am as the submitter and distributor in the FRT.
WA and any deal with M+M was clearly not disclosed to CanAm and were I them, I would be pretty upset that they covered all overhead and were kneecapped, undercut, and beat to market by an 11th hour party.
Money talk and unless can am offers it for less than 1449.99$, i'll get on Wanstall preorder by the end of the week

the simplest explanation is often the truth:
M+M cost to dealer has always been around 1100ish, someone tried to put a 1300$ margin without understanding someone else would be happy with a 350$ margin.
that sounds like a pretty damn plausible explanation to me
Well canam bought and imported one gun and sent it to the lab. Of that we know for sure. Whatever else was in the background is unknown.
Buying a gun and importing it is not proof of an exclusive importation deal with the manufacturer.
