But why didn't people who wanted this rifle jump on the pre order then at Wanstalls price when they had the chance when they knew CanAm price was 2400?!?!?

Oger then Wanstalls saying the preorder would go on for another week or what ever.

I didn't want to take that chance so I ordered ASAP

I didn't order ASAP out of some misplaced and stupid sense of justice by wanting to support a supplier that submitted the FRT, told us a competitor swooped in unscrupulously and WILL ALSO OFFER A LOWER PRICE. Learning opportunity, fvck allegiances, go with the lower price / what's available right now ;)

Only after this, did all the shenanigans start to come to light from M+M which complicated things further.

And good for you, now look what's happening. If you want one down the road it'll be more

I don't shoot AR's, I'm into combloc style x39 rifles so this was a dream for me

Similar reasoning. Now I'm getting a little upset with CanAm .
They stated they would provide an update by the end of the week and still nothing.
Honestly this whole scenario has pretty much soured me off this rifle.
That's why I soothed myself with another great purchase from IRG .

Like I've always wanted the Classie Green in x39 but no one wanted to try to bring it in (or its possible prohib status) so this almost being that in sense I swooped in like oh so many people do here on these boards for stuff THEY want

So really the "price pimps" are the ones who buy this rifle AFTER the pre order

Honor and integrity still means something to some of us. The way the Micky Mouse CEO embarrassed Wanstalls was a travesty, and now they seem to be playing Wanstalls and Canam against each other to see who they can screw harder.
Don't forget the price hike and Wanstalls attack was probably due in part of these "price-tards" that went on M&M's FB page saying "JEEZE, $1450? I WOULD HAVE PAID $2000 FOR ONE OF THESE EASILY".
At $1500CAD they would be selling as fast as they could make them and get them here. At $2000 maybe 500-750 people will buy in. At $2400 maybe 100.
Which pricing scenario makes ####head M&M more money since these are ALL STILL HIGHER THEN US RETAIL pricing.

Yup those price tards are idiots. Why the fvck would you tell someone you would pay more than the asking price. I guarantee you those people wont even end up buying one.

Has anyone ever contacted the Competition Bureau on Canadian firearm shenanigans?

CanAm stated the price between 2000-2400$ so how could you expect it to be lower than the Wantsall one? Stating we will sell for the lowest price doesn't mean anything to me as i knew they could not beat that offer. So i jumped on it as they were the first to offer it. I would never expect a rifle to cost less here than down south, and at 1450$ that was even lower than what M+M sells them off their website.

Same here. I always respected CanAm for no BS pricing policies.

CanAm stated the price between 2000-2400$...

Pricing of 2000-2400 coming form CanAm negotiations with M+M while submitting the sample to RCMP. Even at 2K they were only gonna make any dollar if selling customer direct (no stockpiling inventory). So that price quote is from like 2 years ago.

And the pricing which is really a NR tax to subsidize US orders.

Well Micky Mouse still has to fulfill the Wanstall pre-order, judging by his character there will either be many strings attached (you will get your 50 rifles at $1450 each, but only if you commit to buy 2000@ $2500 each at the same time) or they just drag it out for a few years before they fill the order to be dicks.

Let them, I'll still be getting mine at my original price.

I've waited years fornthe T81 so no scratch off my back

No no they said this "Retail would be $2000-$2400 once the dust settled , based on exchange at time of import/approval". And making this part public is probably why CanAm wont see any rifles since they are quiet "When I pressed M+M on their very high pricing, I was told they had an agreement with their US investors to use export pricing to subsidize US pricing."

And even so why would you agree to bring this in when you know the price is not justified and that your profit is next to none, that's around 800-900USD more than what the rifle MSRP in the US is. Is the extra 2" if barrel worth 700-800$ more? And CanAm would have been ok with that, this untill they saw Wantsall's pre-order price, till then they did not say the price was to high, that M+M wants to subsidize their us prices :D. So if were going to see this rifle at under 2k we should all thank Wantsall for it, otherwise we would all be paying 2k no question asked :D

Why do people always use the absolute highest price they can find to justify the CAD cost? MSRP means NOTHING in the US, dealers were selling these for $999 and making money, so they were getting them ~%20 cheaper then that from Micky Mouse.
It's a $1000USD rifle, not a $1250USD rifle.
If M&M were not total dicks, Wanstalls could sell these at $1450 and make a couple hundred bucks per unit.

And some of us saw neither price as value for the offering.

0 interest at $2400, marginally interested at $1450, diminished to near zero again ,with all the surrounding BS.

Ding, ding, ding!

I was just saying that at 1450 it was lower than what M+M has it on their site in USD, figure importation and dealer markup it was to got for me not to jump on it :).

Who knows, maybe Wanstalls is going to eat the price of the pre-orders. Either way, this is entertaining. I'm not losing any sleep or having grief over this. M+M must know that importers like IRG, Prophet River, Az tec can import firearms...

This literally sums it all up ^^^^

People who are complaining about the inflated price to come have many oher options of getting a rifle still IF they want it. If not the whatever

its easy

if everyone on here who has pre ordered says bugger it i am not buying one
i am sure M+M will soon back down with their over inflated price.

i dont care what anyone says, that rifle aint worth over 2K nevermind 1500

the canadian market is awash with semi autos in 7.62x39

go buy a BCL102,if you have 2k spare

Canadian firearms owners are by and large, a bunch of notoriously tight-fisted consumers pursuing what is in reality, an expensive hobby. This to me, explains the numerous posts bemoaning the purchase price of firearms in little Canada, as compared to the biggest market in the world which just happens to be right next door. Sometimes "mass" and associated buying power allow a cost-savings to the consumer that is simply not feasible in a tiny market with specific, special requirements such as a custom barrel length. By and large in Canada, you have to pay a premium to play on the same field as our US cousins. That's just the reality of our situation as a small market in a big, cold and cut-throat buisness world. Don't want to pay to play? Cool - you can always collect stamps or pennies instead of guns...

Lol. It's not miserley to not want to pay $100,000.00 for a corvette if the MSRP is $50,000 nowis it?

Maybe because the pre-order was in for like 36 hours over a long weekend??? Not everyone lives on cgn.
