M+M m10x issue

Can you recommend a 7.62x39 rifle? I wanted then m10x to fill that niche but the dmr and price turned me off. Considering an ACR bolt&barrel but the close to $1500 price tag for a barrel is a turn off too.

Depends on what u want that rifle to accomplish.

I will say SO FAR, my CSA VZ 58 seems to put them all to shame.

100% reliable out of the box, light, perfectly balanced, superb ergonomics, compact, tool'ess field strip, and surprisingly accurate. 2.5-3.5 moa generally with surplus, and possibly 1.5-2 moa with quality ammo!

People like to complain about its poor optic support, but those people simply bring it on themselves for failing to utilise the side mount setups that the gun was designed to use.

The vz58/cz858s are great guns.
I'm really digging the type 81 right now.
It's awesome.
The low recoil impulse from the short stroke piston and beefy weight of the gun make it very tame and very easy to keep on target for follow up shots which really surprised me.
I was expecting kalashnikov type, big swinging parts recoil. Ak mags can be made to fit with relative ease as well so no proprietary mags.
I'm getting the same 10 round groups with the irons at 100m using chinese surplus as any of my other semi auto black rifles did.

Im hoping they keep bringing them in by the sea can with parts support. They are great value for the money.

VZ58. I have the NR and 11" version and its has been extra reliable, accurate and fun to shoot for years

Save your pennies and buy a t81, bunch of mags and case of ammo. Still come in cheaper then a new XCR and a better deal then a 1500$ new vz58.

I agree with the statement that the type 81 is a much softer recoiling and more overall pleasant to shoot gun out of the box But at $1000, ur lucky to get 5MOA regardless of wat ammo you throw at it. There's virtually no aftermarket accessories, currently ZERO part support, ZERO warranty, barrel isnt threaded, zero support for any optics AND any service regarding them is ultimately going to involve Tactical Imports; who are no better than North Sylvia.

I'd only recommend a Type 81 IF u want that NR AK like firearm look and feel. Cus it certainly provides that!

U can find new VZ 58s for $1300 cad.. only 300 more then a type 81SA

You are comparing a vz which has been for sale in our country for over a decade compared to something which has been around for 1 year in terms of after market parts accessibility.

I dunno about Zero warranty, I got a spare upper handguard when mine came 9ut of the box crapped

But that still doesnt change the fact that currently, none of that exists for the type 81. So anybody who owns one or wants to own one is basically hoping those things will become available in the future. Comparing it to the Type 97, yes eventually aftermarket add ons did arrive, but did parts and warranty service arrive as well? I dont believe so.

Meh. It depends what you want out of the gun.
I shoot mine stock condition and that's the only way I'm ever going to shoot it.
Its plenty good enough for my needs/expectations.
The $300 difference to a VZ58 is almost a 1500 round crate of Chinese ammo.

The single only thing that I don't like about the Type 81 is that at this point and time, there are no critical parts available for now. I really want this thing to become a standard staple of gun availability in Canada so I can keep it as my one and only dirty semi auto blaster because it does everything I need. I don't remember the last time I took a chance on a new gun in Canada and wasn't horribly disappointed. I really hope it doesn't turn out to be a one-off curio relegated to collecting dust in gun hoarders lockers :(

Pardon my ignorance asking this question. Also I have tried to research it. Is the M10x the only rifle sold in Canada that can use AK mags without altering them? Seems like all the other 7.62*39s use proprietary mags.

There's also the M305, and SKS-D. I think the Type 81 takes them, but you lose your Bolt-hold open ability.

There's also that ar-15 that takes AK Mags, (Gilboa M-43) Maccabee used to have one available, not sure if they still do.

Again I have had zero issues with warranty, parts kits sre on the way for them. Seems vz58 parts kits are drying up, I know cuz I sold the last 3 complete parts kits I had

Aye, I don't remember any abundance of parts when I was shooting $600 858's a decade ago either.
They brought in a couple crates of parts at one time but they dried up fast.

I'm waiting with bated breath and fingers crossed on the Type 81 Parts kits but TI doesn't know or give a #### about answering calls, questions or emails about anything sadly.
Mind you now that I've taking this thing out a bunch of times and stripped it down in detail, I don't see much wearing out on them any time soon. They're built like ####ing tanks!

The T81 is one of those firearms (like an ak) where you just keep using it until it craters and you just toss it and get a new one
I have two of them and I can't see them wearing out or breaking too soon, as was said they are built like tanks
If your worried about if failing in the future with no parts to fix it, just buy TWO of them or more!

I'm honestly debating selling off more guns and buying a fixed now that I have a raging hardon for the folder!
Just keep her in the grease until I break this one (if I can) then just cannibalise it for parts lol

I have to admit for the record I was dead wrong about this gun.
I essentially was looking at it as an SKS with a pistol grip and a detachable mag (it kind of is still lol) but it's really nice having the pistol grip and detachable mag. The side folding stock is a cool touch too. Folds up real nice and compact when you need it to.
I would hazard to say after close inspection now that it's built as tough and durable as any SKS was. I love the stamped steel receiver. The bolt and carrier on mine anyway are very well machined. Heavy and solid.
I'm putting 15 rounds of Chinese 7.62mm Copperwash into about a 9" circle at 100 meters just leaning over the bench on my Makita range bag. Which is honestly about what I printed with my AR15's, 180C, Mini 14, XCR-L all did about the exact same with iron sights.
I'm not sure where people are getting that they are "not accurate". If you could scope it (no one has that I know of..) Groups would tighten up but as far as I'm concerned after shooting it quite a bit now, it hits my 18" plate to 300 with irons just as good as every one of my old black rifles I've been shooting over the years. Also keeping in mind the 12" sight radius and still accomplishing this. She's good to go. Very effective accuracy for the type of gun.
