Yes, we should be able to. Email us gunsmith@theshootingcentre.comCan you guys fix my Gen one? It’s got several issues that keep it from being a functional semi auto ..
I kind of have to agree with you on the type 81. It certainly has a vibe to it and it offers pretty good value for a reliable semi auto, but it's a hard sell for me when the accuracy is no better or worse than a sks. The M+M is a firearm I really want to work out, even if it takes generation after generation.Just dropping in to mention that my Gen 3 is running flawlessly on Setting 2, as recommended. It WAS running OK on Setting 1 but then short-stroked a few times, so....
Anyhow, the guys at M+M (with CSC's input) appear to have finally cracked the code on the M10X. If mine is indicative of the new fleet, then positive things are afoot for this long overdue 7.62x39mm platform. Sorry, but the crude ergos and horrible accuracy of the Type 81 just didn't do it for me. I'll happily take the 3-4 MOA that I was getting from my 12" M10X any day of the week though. That is quite acceptable given the chambering.
Have you tried shooting with a single-stack mag or hand-loading it into the chamber? I ask as I recall a Calibre article about the rifle that managed to squeeze out close to the claimed sub-minute accuracy potential of the rifle with it a while back. Something to do with the feed geometry IIRC.One guy getting lucky with a 4 MOA Type 81 isn't about to convince me of that platform's merits, which were really limited to 1 thing anyways - its reliability. I've owned 2 Type 81s at different points and soon sold both, so I know what they aŕe capable of. Now that the M10X is reliable, there is simply no contest. The M10X wins for performance and style points every time in my opinion. YMMV, and that's fine...
Yeah, I hate the accuracy with the T81.

Those are 3/4" target pasters, and this was shot with Polish surplus with an Aimpoint H1
I had a sub-MOA 5-shot group shot from my SKS onceReally, that bad, my holes touch each other with my SKS at 300 meters.![]()
I had a sub-MOA 5-shot group shot from my SKS onceobviously it was a fluke but everyone at the range was impressed
On the other hand, my T81 shoots 3-4MOA 10-shot groups consistently and that's enough to hit steel plates out to 400m no problem. I think I should be able to connect to 500m with a help of a spotter, I just can't spot my own shots at that distance at all. Accurate enough for me.
1 MOA with Surplus, 10 round group..... I feel your pain, you should have bought that lottery ticket!Yeah, I hate the accuracy with the T81.

It's closer to 3 than 4, and lady luck had nothing to do with it.One guy getting lucky with a 4 MOA Type 81 isn't about to convince me of that platform's merits, which were really limited to 1 thing anyways - its reliability.
