M+M M10x range gun updates

Just dropping in to mention that my Gen 3 is running flawlessly on Setting 2, as recommended. It WAS running OK on Setting 1 but then short-stroked a few times, so....

Anyhow, the guys at M+M (with CSC's input) appear to have finally cracked the code on the M10X. If mine is indicative of the new fleet, then positive things are afoot for this long overdue 7.62x39mm platform. Sorry, but the crude ergos and horrible accuracy of the Type 81 just didn't do it for me. I'll happily take the 3-4 MOA that I was getting from my 12" M10X any day of the week though. That is quite acceptable given the chambering.

I kind of have to agree with you on the type 81. It certainly has a vibe to it and it offers pretty good value for a reliable semi auto, but it's a hard sell for me when the accuracy is no better or worse than a sks. The M+M is a firearm I really want to work out, even if it takes generation after generation.

One guy getting lucky with a 4 MOA Type 81 isn't about to convince me of that platform's merits, which were really limited to 1 thing anyways - its reliability. I've owned 2 Type 81s at different points and soon sold both, so I know what they aŕe capable of. Now that the M10X is reliable, there is simply no contest. The M10X wins for performance and style points every time in my opinion. YMMV, and that's fine...

Have you tried shooting with a single-stack mag or hand-loading it into the chamber? I ask as I recall a Calibre article about the rifle that managed to squeeze out close to the claimed sub-minute accuracy potential of the rifle with it a while back. Something to do with the feed geometry IIRC.

Also, does anyone know the difference between all the versions? Thinking about getting the NR version on sale that's on CSC but at this point it's too much to keep up with.

Really, that bad, my holes touch each other with my SKS at 300 meters. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
I had a sub-MOA 5-shot group shot from my SKS once 🙃 obviously it was a fluke but everyone at the range was impressed 🤣
On the other hand, my T81 shoots 3-4MOA 10-shot groups consistently and that's enough to hit steel plates out to 400m no problem. I think I should be able to connect to 500m with a help of a spotter, I just can't spot my own shots at that distance at all. Accurate enough for me.

I have one Chinese SKS which shoots straight as a laser with Barnaul. There is no consistency with both SKS and type 81. The worst about the type 81 is the trigger. I am wondering if somebody has a post how to improve it.

We just recently dealt with a customer who had feed problems with his rifle. The problem turned out to be the use of Type 81 magazines.
These magazines fit the mag well but the dimensions, feed angle and cartridge spacing in the receiver are different. We do not guarantee reliability with these magazines.

It's closer to 3 than 4, and lady luck had nothing to do with it.

The M10x can't shoot worth sh!t, and that for me is its biggest drawback...well, aside from its poor reliability track record.

If the bugs have been worked out and its reliability issues are in the rear view mirror, great! But then lets see some accuracy testing.
For double the money, I'm not expecting a precision rifle, but it should be able to improve upon the T81s potential quite handily.
In all of the latest reviews extolling the 'new and improved' M10x, I've yet to see a breakdown of how they perform on paper.

Well, my sample size of 1 Gen 3 12" Carbine is running with 100% reliability, so I would venture to say that those issues are in the past. As for accuracy, I will try to recover some of my targets today, but no guarantees. Being in a wheelchair, it is a bit of a production for me to shut down the range in order to load up, drive down to the 100m boards, unload, recover my targets, load back up, drive back to the firing line, then the line can return to shooting. Not cool when there are other firers waiting around for me to #### about with my wheelchair and truck, so my targets usually get recovered by another shooter at the end of the day.

Accuracy out of my 12" tube may neot be a valid representation of what the 18.5" Barrel is capable of. I dunno. Watch and shoot......

I appreciate all the effort you put into your reviews Bartok5. It would be great to see others do the same on this forum.
I'm sure there are plenty of M-10x owners out there that have given these a go and could share their results.
