M+M M10x range gun updates

I fired a other 60 rounds of Norinco and 80 of Barnaul today. I couldn't recover my targets for the reasons anticipated, but my groups were nothing to write home about anyways. The average today was 4 MOA with occasional 5 MOA groups due to fliers. If I were firing 10 round groups instead of 5, I suspect that there would be an even split of 4 MOA and 5 MOA groups. I am not thrilled with the Grouping accuracy, but practical accuracy against IPSC steel was very good out to 300m I must also say. That's OK performance to me for a short 12" Barrel...

E.T.A. I had one failure to eject, leading to an Empty Casing obstructing the Feed Path. After clearing the stoppage there were no further reliability issues.

All things considered I'm satisfied with my Gen 3 M10X Carbine.

Some more info on the Gen 3 Plus. Cold hammer forged, chrome lined barrels (in the OEM 16 inchers, not our 18.5s )- Lothar Walther?

I'm slowly getting stoked about these, but I need some validation on the accuracy.

CSC - has anyone in your organization done a comparison of the non-restricted Plus rifles with nitrated button rifled barrels against a 16" chrome lined gun at any meaningful distance (100m +) ?

All of my m10xs along with my newest gen 3 rifle are all on par or just a bit better then a T81 which is par for the course on ANY x39 rifle I've shoot NC Norc or Barnual out of

Did you get an original 16" barrel or did you go non-restricted with your gen 3 plus?
How are the safeties on your's? Do they loosen a bit and 'break in' over some use or do they remain quite tight?

I assume you are limiting the "any X39" to semi's, what size groups are you getting with the Non corrosive and Barnaul?

NR 18.6" yes, they were a bit tight, but some lube and thrusting loosened them up good!!!

You got it, semis is what I'm referring too. Roughly 3-4moa at 100y.
I usually only run red dots so not too sureif it can be tightened up with magnification or not

The easy optic mounting option on the M10 is a big bonus over most of the other surplus guns, someone really needs to do a big shootout with all the usual suspects still available for range use in Canada..... I wonder if there is a range that would be willing to host the event.... :)

If I had more time (kids, work.... :-/) I'd bring out all my x39 semi's to see which groups the best bit from past experiences they are all very close in terms of accuracy.

That said, my Gen 3 m10x has been absolutely awesome to run and shoot.

For reference, in the before times, I used to have a cz858 rebarreled by dlask. Good results with Hornady steel case SSTs

I did a small review of mine. Accuracy is about the same as everyone else, 3-5” groups. Going to keep trying different ammo and see what happens.

Well, I took the plunge and had the CSC 'Smith spool me up a 12" Barrel on a CeraKoted ODG Receiver with a Lage (Fixed) Buttstock. Basically I wanted a modernized "Krink" based on an "improved" AK long-stroke action in the M+M M10X. The M10X is actually far more SIG 550 than it is AK, but whatever - externally it has visual AK cues based on the Magazine and Receiver Shape.

I happen to have 3 Lage Manufacturing Buttstocks on hand at home, all equipped with variations of the Lage Folding Mechanism. So I was able to "rob" a Lage Universal Folding Adapter from one of my PCCs to go between my new "fixed" Buttstock and the M10X's Lower Receiver. Works perfectly, as you would expect. I have replacment Lage Manufacturing items as well as a new Cheek Riser enroute via mule-train from A Z T E C H Armoury. Those parts will arrive some time in December, but at least the A z t e c h s have been reliable to date!

You can really tell the difference with the M10X's new milled receiver. The the M10X has easily the smoothest "AK"/SIG 550 style of action that I have ever felt. Even nicer than my Galils or Valmet M76. Definitely nicer than my Russian AKMS. This 3rd Generation of the rifle is extremely solid, with zero rattle or play between the various parts. It would seem that among other things, M+M has addressed the slop/loose tolerances that used to exist between the (formerly cast) steel Receiver and the outer aluminum Handguard. Things are nice and tight when you slide the parts together or apart during Field Stripping. The AK-style Trigger is quite good, with a bit of take-up followed by a solid "wall" then a fairly clean break. The Hammer now strikes the Firing Pin with extra strength thanks to the new coiled spring that M+M has finally adopted.

I am very much looking forwards to first rounds downrange, likely tomorrow!

Oh man what a great looking build.

This has certainly moved to a viable option for a 7.62 that isn’t an Sks

Sorry, I should've explained further. The Lage models have the older handguard but gen 3 internals. We also have guns with Zhukov stocks, gen 2 handguards and gen 3 internals as well as complete gen 3 rifles with Zhukov stocks, again just no CHF barrel.
Edited: Nevermind, figured it out.

The only thing that irks me is they built a $2400 gun that doesn't come with integral irons. Shouldn't have to buy iron sights for semi autos.

Most people today would rather shoot optics..... integrated sights is less common, atleast it's easy to mount sights on modern sporter guns with long rails.

The only thing I'd like to see now that they seem to be running well is better accuracy, and of course more long term reviews and data.... :)
